Arquello wanted the fight with Duran. See the famous Ring Magazine photo of Duran looking at AA's photo. Another individual overlooked in the "projections", would have been an Antonio Cervantes v Duran fight.

Agree 100%. Whitaker could take a very good punch anyway imo.

Really it was the foot speed difference and angles the attacks were coming from that proved to be his down fall against Pryor.

Yeah Pryor was extremely unorthodox and this presented problems.

Having said that Arguello landed enough bombs to knock most men out 3 times i think. I still think he carried a lot of power at 140 but Pryor was a bigger man and showed a superb chin in this.

Whitaker? I think Arguello might have had his hands full with Casamayor...

Gato Gonzalez kayoed Fernandez and that gave everybody the idea that he was a world class puncher and the next big thing, that's how highly Vilomar was regarded.

this wasnt even a fight. how can anyone call this boxing? it was a track meet and a robbery. the only thing Vilomar did was RUN and slap. IT was Arguello who did the real scoring. some people just get too excited over the sight of running with a rise from a pro Puerto Rican crowd in NYC
