COming out of the olympics he was bring groomed as the next golden boy but it's unfortunate how things turned out. But i still like this guy, his style is very pleasant to watch and he has potential.. What r ur thoughts on Escobedo?
Yea the guy always gave an eerie resemblance to Oscar, but far from the way Oscar fought. The guy has power, but he lacks speed, defense, and ring generalship if he ever wants to beat a top tier opponent. It was alittle of a surprise to me how Katsidis, not known for outboxing people, instead of making it a war, just dominated Escobedo and beat him to the punch all throughout the fight. Like Katsidis, Escobedo needs to stay on his toes, jab alot, and fight off his jab while keeping his hands up and use lateral movement. The guy is very hittable. GBP needs to prep their guys up and have the best trainers at their disposal if they want their fighters to perform at their best instead of just throwing them in there with the lions.
I was trying to keep up with him but he's not really making any noise. I rock with him on FNR3, though.
I cant quite put a grasp on this guy's problem but he always fails at the top level.. he's decorated amatuer champ, has respectable power, skills, he's a well rounded fighter but i think he might lack mental toughness.. He definitely choked against katsidis. He was being trained by Nacho and looked to be developing well but i dont know what happend there.
i think he has alot more to give us maybe the katsidis fight came to soon but it showed soemthing very important if ur gonna make it....his will to carry on fighting he never gave up not like mitchell when he fought katsidis never wanted out just gave everything he had....also hes skilled he has great potential still
