Vinny Mitchell is fighting Robin Deakin this Friday. When they fought last time it was a pretty close and entertaining fight but this guy has gone on to lose every fight since and Mitchell looked pretty good last time out. This seems like a backwards step for Mitchell, when is he going step it up and fight someone with a winning record. He looks like he could be pretty decent.
This is a totally pointless, typical Sports Network fight. Robin Deakin shouldn't be fighting - he hasn't been competitive with anyone other than Mitchell, what purpose does beating him again serve? Why can't he get a slot on a US bill, even if only for four rounds, or in Germany?
mitchell deffinatley needs to step it up. he has been pro 2 years now and has only had 7 fights which have all been 4 rounders. you got guys like Groves, Sutherland, Fury already on 6's. Accepted he turned pro a bit to soon but he needs to move on now. the only reason this fight is worth seeing is that Deakin dropped Mitchell and it was close. Mitchell needs to Knock Deakin out and demand to be moved on.
He needs to leave Sports Network Everyone should be on 6x3's straight away. If you are going to fight 4x2's or 4x3's, you may as well stay in the amateurs
warren could make his brother big, the current SF division is quite weak picking up a ligit belt wont be so difficult IMO then they can string together a few easy defences before a big money fight
Super-feather isn't as weak as you think. Used to be, but you've still got guys like Humberto Soto in there, and now Guerrero has stepped up and is looking for a belt, Linares has the WBA, all 3 would put Mitchell to sleep. His only real chance is likely to be Nicky Cook, who would easily outpoint Mitchell. I honestly can't see Kevin picking up a belt anytime soon.
remeber deaken had vinny on the floor.deaken fought jason hastie and thinks he won,but it was marked as a draw .
the south african whos hijacked the IBF and is hiding in his home country could be a decent option, i think mitchell will have enough to beat him, linares struggled with a journeyman so mitchell has a good chance.guerraro hasnt had any serious fights at SF and theres no arguing that mitchell would find himself mutalated within a couple of rounds against soto
Guerrero looks just as fresh and strong at super-feather as he did at feather, if not more so. I think he'd have too much for Mitchell, who's struggled with guys like Johansson. Seeing as he was the IBF feather champion, I expect he'll get a shot at the IBF before Mitchell, that's if Baloyi fights either of them. Warren won't be able to manipulate the IBF like he will the WBO. Linares beats Mitchell hands down, I'm not one of these people to overate him as I don't think he's anything special, but he's far past Mitchell's level.
mitchells too cocky for his own good, if he settled down more and boxed he' wouldnt get hit as often, against carl he got too mocho and traded if he boxed more it may have been an easier night, if he has another lackluster year he'll probrably find himself retiring with a similar record to some latino club fighter, warren doesnt appear too interested in him
