Yep, number 1 journeyman buckley, credit to british boxing.Criminal what the paper wrote about him when he reached 300 bouts and then retired. He was well happy with his win in his last fight.

 

I would like Kevin to have a warm up against him over 8 rounds

 

He won at least 40 of the fights he lost just off the top of my head. He was a paid boxer who's interest was to lose, yet he still gave his all. Watch the naz fight where he gets stopped and he is protesting, not about the loss, but because he wasn't aloud to box for 4 weeks after that fight. Sheer love for the game, he was a solid foundation for boxers to learn from and build upon. I would honestly award him a knighthood such is my passion for the guy and his work for boxing.

 

When i journeyman gets stopped how long do they have to wait before they are allowed in the ring again?

 

28 days for head shots. not sure about body shots

 

is it not the same? a stoppage is a stoppage surely...

 

3 steps back to take 1 step forward imho. He needs a decent opponent domestic top 10 for me, after 1 fight he will get his confidence and get back into the swing of things. I am praying he gets it on with Murray at some stage...

 

i know that in the amateurs it is 28 days for head stoppages but no suspension for body shots, i think it is something to do with concussions received by head shots. if the doctor checks the boxer afterwards and he thinks it is a bad concussion i have seen a 3 month suspension.

 

Buckley was better then a lot of the top ams I fought. He was very very canny

 

Kevin should already have had a couple of quick knockovers already. As it is he'll be having the best part of 10 months off, which has happened to him a couple of times.

Surely not all of his fights have to be on telly. Just get that rust off

He paid dearly in the Katsidis fight for having a lack of decent comp in the lead up, as have lots of Brits in title fights in recent years.

 

i think the problem is that they believe there own hype and can't handle it when things go wrong

 

I would imagine all boxers are required to wait the same amount of time, whether they be P4P champs or journeymen. I thought it was 6 weeks in Britain.
