The "pazmanian devil" wins by U.D. vinny was one of the rare fighters who mantained most of his speed after moving up in weight. He was also a pretty good ( although not great) boxer who was also quick on his feet. I just don't think that jake would be able to consistently land because paz would use the hit and run strategy, same as he did as duran. I know that duran was well past his peak when they fought but he was still technically more skilled than lamotta and he lost both fights, so I can't envision jake winning

I don't see Paz' face holding up in a war with LaMotta. Toe to toe action, Paz' defense isn't good enough to keep Jake off of him. & when pressed Vinnie will gladly rumble. & not run. LaMotta will take three to land one and cause alot of damage to Vinnie's face, causing major swelling or a nasty cut. LaMotta TKO nine or ten.

Yes, and then some. Paz is dealing with a naturally bigger, stronger and completely sadistic man. I hope that for Vinny's sake that the fight won't last too long, in that he won't suffer a prolonged beating like Davey Moore.

Paz started out as a lightweight while Lamotta killed himself to make Middleweight :patsch Lamotta had 5 wars with Sugar Ray Robinson and beat him once after knocking him through the ropes, and this is the greatest of all time I'm talking about. Pazienza had way too much muscle when he moved up in weight and I think that it made him look super unnatural at Middleweight. If that's even a word. What's Paz's best win? Greg Haugen? Whats a better win, Sugar Ray Robinson or Greb Haugen? I'll take Lamotta by ****

You underestimate the toughness of pazienza. You're talking about a man who survived and came back from a broken neck. He was every bit as tough as jake and besides, jake was not a big puncher.

Lamotta is great and Pazienza is not, and then take into conderation the natural weight of the two. Although Paz did add on the weight well by muscle building. Lamotta is a legend and Paz really was not.

People are talking about LaMotta as if he were a swarmer of Dempsey or Frazier kind, and not a slow plodder where footwork is concerned.

Pazienza wasn't exactly a great fighter though. He was ok, but he was a herky jerky type of guy who had decent handspeed, but not at all in the Lamotta class.

2 very tough warriors. the duran that beat barkley and almost beat hagler if a 12 rder may have beating hagler has a shot. vinny, was one tough fighter. yet at 160 lamotta was to big. interesting lbflb on vinny n jake..vinny was great from lightweight up to middle. was lamotta great from middle to lightheavy? give vinny respect..he earned it..DRMULLEN.

To make it clear, I'm not saying Paz would win, he'd most probably lose a decision, but it wouldn't be in a blow-out manner some people here are predicting. LaMotta was very far from a KO artist, very-very far.

I give Vinny respect, but I do not think he is ATG or even HOF. I think the HOF has become easier to get into than it should be. If you look at some guys who are in the HOF then maybe Pazienza should make it in, but only if you see the guys who got in. I do believe a guy like Iran Barkley deserves to be in more than Vinny Pazienza. Barkley seemed to transform boxing more than Vinny.
