VIP BOXERS RESULTS FROM BOLTON 22ND OCTOBER 2011

KERRY HOPE – Led the way with a great performance beating the fancied Tony Hill in a British Middleweight eliminator . Kerry started at a fast pace and managed to keep the work rate up , it was this and a 10th round knock down that swayed the judges to give him the Victory.

KARL PLACE – Beat import Ivan Godor on points but was not one of his memorial performances , let’s hope he was thinking of his British eliminator in 5 weeks and we see a Kerry Hope performance .We expect better and are sure we will see it at Wigan on the 3rd December .

ALI SHA – Had his winning streak ended by Glen Foot who came in 5lb over the agreed 10st 8lb weight . Ali was adamant he wanted the contest and despite using borrowed trainers and not having time to warm up , his choice looked good when he clearly won the 1st round. We expected it to build up from there but unfortunately it was not the case as his punch output just stopped and he lost on points to the aggressive Foot but was never hurt.

JON KAYS – Beat the always value for money Ibrar Riyaz in a entertaining contest .It was great to get the cobwebs off after his defeat to Liam Walsh in his recent Commonwealth challenge , we hope another title challenge comes his way soon.

JOSH WARRINGTON – Put in another good shift in a great punch up that entertained the crowd ,the 60-54 result does not really show the effort put in by Dougie Curran who always competes. Josh moves to 9-0 and was watching the TOB with interest as it will surely not be long before he is at that level.

****** TANSEY – The popular Middleton Middleweight is always in a cracking contest and again did not fail in his points win over the durable Ryan Clark who put in extra effort in this one. Ryan is normally happy to see out the contest but needle crept into this one and Ryan had a real go but never looked like winning a contest that ****** dominated with his jab.
