VIP RESULTS FROM LEIGHT – 6TH MAY

CHRIS JOHNSON – Retained his CA Welterweight title against Neil Beavers in a cracking contest which swung one way to the other. Neil came flying out putting a lot of pressure on Chris who absorbed it well and picked off some nice shots of his own , as the fight went on the punches of Chris became more frequent and harder eventually dropping the always advancing Beavers and then stopping him with the referees intervention.

TERRY NEEDHAM – Moved to 3-0 with a points win over Matt Seawright who hung on desperately in the last round.

CRAIG BOARDMAN – Beat the always live Carl Allen on points.

PHIL FURY – Had a points win over Lewis Byrne.

MAXINE McCARTHY – Remains unbeaten after a points victory over Belgium Zsofia Bido.

AARAN MICHEAL JNR – Did not box after a mix up at the doctors who forgot to take blood tests when having his medicals

MIKE STAFFORD – Was left fuming when opponent Lee Kellet withdrew on the afternoon of the show. Lees manager originally advised that his scan had not been approved at the board but this was wrong , Lee then said he now arranged to work in his shop and could no longer make it :nono

Footage of all the fights will be available shortly on www.VIPBoxing.tv

Unlucky for Stafford he needs the comeback fight. I have heard that Kellet has been unreliable before. Hope Mike can get out again as soon as possible.

Good to see Phil Fury getting a win ;)

Phurious Phill Fury is a gentleman. He's always willing to give rematches. The great trilogy with Louis Byrne has now become known as "Phurious Byrning"
