    UPS AND DOWNS IN BOXING FROM THE VIP STABLE ALONE LAST WEEK

    GARY SYKES – After the up of hearing he had a WBO World title fight against the touted Adrian Broner in Las Vegas only a few weeks ago , he got the big downer when the full show was called off due to Amir Khans opponent failing a drugs test . We are now waiting on Golden Boy to confirm whether he will still get the opportunity on the rescheduled show.

    LUKE BLACKLEDGE – Took a fight with Rocky Fielding for the Central Area Super-Middleweight on 2 weeks notice only to find out 4 days later that they did not fancy it and he was dropped – another big downer after training 3 times a day to make sure he would be ready.

    CHRIS JOHNSON – After a long 19 fight career -which saw him stopped on his debut and loose to a journeyman - finally gets the reward for his determination and fights Lee Purdy for the English Welterweight title on the 7th July - a definite up !!

    KERRY HOPE – A mixture here as after the massive up of winning the European title against Proska he has to go over old ground and fight him again in Sheffield on the 7th July 2012 , it has been done before and will be an even bigger up when the win is repeated.

    TERRY FLANNIGAN – Another up when he found out he would be boxing at Oldham on Friday 18th May for the vacant English Super-Featherweight title against the tough Dougie Curran, with the winner to defend against Troy James.

    JEFF THOMAS - Was up for a trip to Canada to box an 8x3 with Sam Vargas but was down when there commissioner rejected the contest

    ANTHONY SMITH – Had a downer when his bout against Ian Butler from Scotland was taken off the massive 19th May bill in Aintree.

    MATTHEW RYAN – A damaged hand has ruled him out of his 2nd fight planned for this Friday at Oldham sports centre , a massive downer for a kid starting out on his professional career , the up side is he can now go to his sisters wedding and keep the family happy.

    DEAN HALSALL – Another downer with an injury forcing him out of 1st scheduled fight for VIP at Bowlers on the 2nd June

    CARL JOHANSON – A big up getting a Commonwealth eliminator at Lightweight against old for Chris Goodwin on the packed 2nd June show at Bowlers topped by British Light-Middleweight Champion Brian Rose – who is also on a up training in Portugal.

    TOMMY COYLE – Another up as he will fight for the English Lightweight title at his home city of Hull on the 28th September against Martin Gethin , first he boxes at Oldham this Friday on a Boxnation event.

    LIAM TAYLOR – A downer as he will be out a few months after breaking his hand on the hard head of Andrew Patterson in his last fight.

    KEVIN SATCHELL – A massive up when he found out his English flyweight title scrap with local rival Paul Edwards was upgraded to a Commonwealth title fight.

    STEVE WOOD –The VIP Manager/promoter was Up -Down/Up -Down /Up -Down/Up –Down / Up –Down and finished the week pickled , but not as normal in beer .Adios !!!
