Surprised to see Arnfield in with Marshall (previously drew & then lost in a rematch to Matvienko?) given he has only had a handful of fights. All in all a good undercard for Jeff!
Lads and Elle , Yes it is not an easy fight for Jack but he is very mature for an 18 year old and we think a prospect , so he needs to have some learning fights like this one as he progresses. I am sure he can handle himself at this level. STEVE PS - Jeff has got his wanted rematch too , so that will be a good fight also to go with what we believe is a very good bill .It should keep the full house occupied instead of being bored shitless with crap fights.
Yeah, heard good things about Arnfield – and you can’t argue with the form he has show so far or the fact he is taking on a decent fighter in Martin Marshall next time out. I did see him live in the final of the Junior ABAs at Huddersfield in 2005 (i think) and he was given a beating by Birmingham's Thomas Costello, who is 3-0 (1) as a pro, trained by Richie Woodhall and just signed a four-fight deal with Frank Warren. Arnfield showed he had toughness to go with his skills that night. That would be a good little rematch a couple of years down the line. Thomas is operating at welterweight and Jack at light-middleweight so there wouldn’t be a huge weight discrepancy. Looks a very good card, by the way. I would have liked to have made the trip up with Terry ‘The Brummie Bulldog’ Adams (aka the scourge of Birmingham city centre’s bouncers, fighting on the card) but I’m at a show in Leicester the same evening. Typical.
Lads, The Gomez date has changed as Team Ingles who train Lee will be over in the states with Juniour witter the week before. Cheers, STEVE WOOD
