GARY DAVIES Had a career best win on Thursday in Dublin when he stopped EX British Champion Martin Power in the 2nd round with a fluster of precise punches that hurt Martin and left him in no position to defend himself. Gary was over excited in the ring after this performance as at breakfast on the day of the fight he had overheard Martin telling friends that this was a warm up fight and he would be finishing it early , also Gary was to challenge Jason Booth for the Commonwealth title that evening but had been rejected as an unsuitable opponent surely next time he has to be considered. MIKE GOMEZ The Mancunian Mexican just keeps going and had a good performance last evening in Scotland beating Chris Long on points in his 47th fight. GARY SYKES Moved to 10-0 with a stoppage win over the normally durable Jason Nesbitt , who although not hurt was being peppered and had stopped throwing any punches back . LEE JENNINGS Lost on points to the tricky Yussif Al hamidi in a contest we felt should had been a draw. Lee forced the fight from the off winning the first few rounds easily, only to be tagged a few times whilst still pressuring in the later rounds TYRONE NURSE Had a comfortable points win over Sid Razak and looked quality in parts working of the jab and showing a wide range of shots. KARL PLACE Despite getting over the flue Karl put on a professional performance against the durable Johnny Greaves winning on points but hurting john on the way.
Are we going to see a step up in class for Gary Sykes? He's 10-0 now so should step up and face some better comp. Someone like Fehintola maybe?
I like Sykes. He has alot of class and is a pleasure to watch. To me he definetky seems ready for a step up in quality.
good to see the vip boys moving on up, shows are getting bigger and more fans are attending, steve wood deserves everything that comes vips way because i havent met a more genuine person in boxing.
:goodtotally agree. I admit i'd like to see the VIP boys step up their opposition in 2009 but i'm sure that will already be planned. Great promotional outfit always valuer for money.
