I hope we get to see Gomez back down at super feather and maybe against Burns and Femi. These two would be good opponents and both would probably be willing to test themselves.

Sykes looks a very good prospect. Seen him fight a couple of times now and would venture out again if he shows up this side of the pennines again.

    Good luck to Moore.

I was disapointed for NightNurse that he did not get a bout so good luck for September. Once again hope to see him fight in Yorkshire again, the kid has talent.

Jamie Moore really needs to step up, I hope he fights for the European title like it says or he fights Bradley Pryce.

How far do you think Sykes can go? Comes from a neighbouring town and there's been a bit about him in the local paper. Still haven't seen him box though.

All the best to Gomez and as many would agree he needs a couple of stedy wins and to finish on a high...rematch with McDonagh or something like that! Really nice lad and deserves to finish on a win! :good

Your not the only one whos dissappointed, but thats boxing and we don't all get our way! The september fights are in Colne (late sept) and where ever Maloneys big bill is early september, around the midlands way id guess(Munroe- Hughes top of bill)!
Dont think my first fight showed alot of what i'd have wished and i feel that if the bout with Baz Carey had come off on the Hatton show, then people would have seen me being more myself! Not so easy when Laight has already decided he isn't going to try (no disrespect towards himself). So hopefully my next fights will let me let show off a bit more of myself! :blurp

    Two answers far and further!
Just a few things that he needs to pick up before stepping up into the 10/12 round stuf, but he learning these things and picking them up in the gym. Should be a good test against Ramgoadi on 18th! Comes to win and isn't a bad little fighter so expect possibly the bout of the night. :D

Yep. I agree that Gomez should just get a couple of wins and finish on an high but the type of bloke he is I doubt he will do that. He will probably come back with a bit of a gimme fight then fight a decent opponent and then once more get a dangerous guy who will stop him in a brutal affair like Khan and Johannesson did.

I am thinking of going to the midlands bill but not sure yet. I want to see Munroe fight in person and that bill looks a good opportunity. Wish you luck if you appear. I like Kristian Laight and although he does not come to win he always gives opponents a good workout. He is pretty decent technically and knows how to stay in a fight plus he always takes opponents the full distance. He has got a job and sticks to it. Baz would have offered you a differant type of fight.

I think Gary Sykes can go onto be very good and should do well domestically. He is coming through the division pretty well and with a few more progressive fights he may enter English title contention. He does not want rushing because like you say he still has a few things to work on. A future match up with Akaasg Bhatia would be good.

I felt that someone like Baz offers me a hell of alot more openings to exploit than Laight. Which would suit me more, centre of ring picking out my shots rather than forcing everything as with Laight!
But im happy doing it either way :D

Bhatia Sykes wold have a bit of rivalry, as Gary did beat Bhatia in the ABAs if im correct! Not sure it would happen though, Bhatia is a feather and Sykes will likely end up at Lightweight.

Yep. I just hope you get better shorts next time, the last ones were abit plain looking. :yep

I doubt we will see Bhatia vs Sykes but it is a fight that I would be interested in seeing down the line. Sykes does look like he will grow out of the super feather division. I thought that Bhatia had been fighting at super feather recently but not too sure.

Where do you think you will end up weight division wise?

    I've heard every division going!

    Dad reckons Welter
    Scott reckons Light Middle/Middle
    I reckon Light Welter/welter
    Julian reckons Welter

So overall i'd guess Welterweight! Got loads of time to grow and fill out from where i'am now! I could make SuperFeather if there was any need to but there isn't so no point!

Nah you looked pretty tall compared to Kristian so a drop down to super feather would be dodgy but you and your team will know best.

If i was 21 and at the weight i am now then Superfeather would be a title fight weight! But by the time im 21 i'll have filled quite abit!

Yep. Better off filling out naturally than killing yourself to be at a weight. I always prefer fighters to just move up in weight than try and kill themselves making weight.

On a similar note I hope Khan just jumps upto light welter than trying to stay at lightweight for another year.

As good as Khan is, his weakness' have been exposed now! Any step ups against the best and fringe contenders could result in the end of Khan! With the likes of Manny Pac, Guzman, Antillion, Romanov, Casamayor, Campbell there all tough, punchers, with quality and class included!
The defence needs some major work, before World title fights are to happen!
