A GREAT SHOW AND 8 WINS FOR VIP AT BOLTON LAST SUNDAY

ALEX MATTVIENKO – Became the light-Middleweight Masters champion with a 10 round points victory over John Musgrave in a well fought contest . Alex is known as the ‘ One man riot ’ but changed the script on Sunday leaving his brawling methods at home and decided to showcase his boxing skills instead . The fight still had its moments but apart from the last round it was not the normal free for all occasion we have come to expect off Alex and this bodes well for the future.

MICK JENNO - Continued his comeback with a points win over the durable Jamie Ambler who although dropped in the 3rd round never really looked in danger of being stopped , a bit more ring rust is off and Jenno will be straight back in the gym to help Tony Quigley prepare for Brian Magee

CHRIS JOHNSON – Bounced back with a win after his shock loss to Geraint Harvey with a points victory over Martyn King in a very good fight. Chris was outworked in the first 2 but turned the fight round with a right hook that dropped King to take a 10-8 round and a close but winning last round saw him home.

TREVOR CREWE - This was a very exciting debut by the ‘ Wrecking Crewe ‘ who lived up to his nickname by stopping the normally durable Geraint Harvey in the 4th round with a volley of punches that had the crowd off their feet . If he keeps this level of performances up then I am sure the numbers that followed him from Sunderland will continue to grow and they will all have a great time watching him develop ,he boxes next in Blackpool on the 17th July.

TONY AITCHESON - Another debut win for the Dewsbury 18 year old who beat Old warhorse Karl Taylor on points.

RICK GODDINS - Had a late change when Chris Long pulled out and had to settle for a repeat points win over Carl Allen , Rick is ready to go now.

JON KAYS – Moved to 8-1 with a points win over the very tough Stephen Gethin who despite being out boxed in every round never gave up. Jon seems to have found extra confidence in his last 2 fights since his only loss and is looking ready for another step up.

KIERON FARELL – The Pocket Rocket flyweight had the Delroy Spencer test this Sunday and will have learned off the cute old fox . Like the wrecking crewe he is a barrel of anger and wants to kill with every punch . this is great for his fans who will follow him to Blackpool on the 17th July where he will box next. Once he settles down and selects the punches better, he will be a handful and title opportunities will be there for when he reaches 20 years of age.
