:rofl I see Punisher33 continues to hype his great hope Peter and hate on Wlad. I've been fair, and never hated on Peter. But his "performances" vs an overweight slob in JT and Jameel "I fold up big time" McCline has exposed Sammy :yep Virchis vs Peter could be a good fight, about a toss up. And neither guy is going to be mistaken for a skilled boxer. Hey '33' time to find another hope

I've been keeping Virchis in my avatar for a while but I'm the first to admit the guy isn't exactly Muhammad Ali...Le't summarise Virchis career and style.

The first time I saw him was against Bidenko. Now, I think fighters like Virchis are the most dangerous and difficult to fight for a few reasons:
He doesn't tire, he doesn't unfold under pressure, he doesn't get discouraged, he keeps getting hit coming forward totally open, knowing that sooner or later he will land, and most important thing he doesn't cut or go in panick-mode when he gets hit flush....he looks like he doesn't care....so far this strategy resulted in KO wins over Bidenko, Vidoz, Hawkins. On the other hand, Sprott (not exactly Joe Louis himself) was able to outsmart him and was robbed by the decision.
Against Chagaev, I was able to get the full copy of that fight that wasn't televised, well... it was a stinker, the type of fight that could have gone either way because none of them landed anything significant throughout 12 rounds. Chagaev was temptative and reluctant, a totally different Chagaev than the one we saw against Valuev or Ruiz....maybe it was Virchis' reputation or maybe it wasn't just his night.
Virchis is utterly unskilled but he's got a very effective yet horrible style, which enables him to win rounds, he's a physically imposing guy, a solid 6'5" 250lbs with a big frame.

And of course....his sheer power. As of now, I can't say if KOs over European level fighters like Bidenko or Vidoz can tell much, but I can say you something and I've already written it in another thread: clips of his KOs show he just need one punch, some of his KOs are scary and disturbing.

I don't know how he would perform against Samuel Peter, but you know what? I think Juan Carlos Gomez is far more dangerous for him than Peter, Samuel is there to be hit, Gomez is a nightmare to box, ask to McCall.
It'lll be a very interesting fight.

Decker, hating on Peter wont take away from the fact Peter dropped Wlad 3 times and was looking to finish him before Wlads excessive holding allowed him to get out of danger. I hope your willing to give Peter credit when he lays out Makeav in a couple months, I have a feeling its going to look like the time Peter hit Williams, only this time it will be the overhand right that puts Maskaev to sleep.:dead

I have to agree, although I saw Gomez get KO'd by Diaz, when in top shape he can jab and run from Virchis where Peter will hit and be hit (be hit is the KEY) Virchis has a better shot landing a solid blow vs Peter, Gomez is more alusive but McCall has seen better days he was outpointed by TOS, I am not overimpressed with the boring Gomez but he has a better chance of stealing the fight

Greenberg fights ala Roy Jones with his hands by his waist........he's gonna pay for it sooner or later.

I agree, Wlad was scared of Pete that nite, that's why Peter wasn't knocked out. That fight was Pete's finest moment, but he's gone downhill from then.
I would think,Brewster,Tua,Virchis,Vitali, Wlad,Valuev,Chagaev and even Shannon Briggs would KO Peter. He was out of it against McCline..so much, that the ref. could have called the fight.
Pete's got alot to prove in my book.

Smokin Joe, I wonder why you think Virchis is "unskilled". Dimitrenko is unskilled, Sprott would probably KO him.
I think Virchis has improved a lot since the Bidenko bout.
He looked pretty good against Vidoz and Hawkins.

I'm the biggest Gomez fan here but it will be a tough struggle for my man.

I think Virchis is very strong and can punch a lot harder than your average heavyweight. I want to see his level of competition to be stepped up and fight a feller who can definitely beat him.. Oliver McCall would be a good bench mark... Gomez is gonna be a solid test... Greenberg is a bit too amateurish ...

Until Peter puts any heavyweight with a pulse to sleep (cruisers don't count), you will continue to sound like an idiot. :good

You have nothing to contribute to anything, at least my boy hasnt been knocked out 3 times and been down 11 times like Wlad

I've seen several of Virchis' fights. Peter would outbox him easily and Gomez would embarrass him.

He punches, but has no other facets to his armoury...
