Virchis has never even been knocked down, what makes you think Gomez can knock him out in 3?

That's what I'm saying, since when is Gomez a KO artist? I could see him winning a boring decision like the one he won vs. SSS. I could also see Virchis lowering the BOOM and KOing Gomez..............

Virchis was wary of Chagaev's power and in spite of many here I don't regard Chagaev as a good puncher, his best KO is mid-fight stoppage against Michael Sprott. Virchis isn't chinny but has faced largely light punchers.

Gomez carried his power up well.
He has KOd average chinned George Arias early, Defiagbon in three (went the distance with Maskaev), KOd rock-solid Al Cole and has knocked down Samil Sam with a single punch.
The only embarassing result is that he couldn't stop chinny Bakhtov.

The top 3 spots were all vacant at one point or another...

Gomez while somewhat boring can really box ears off when he's up for a fight. he has insane talent and hopefully he decides to take things seriousoly and show it

I don't know why, but I can see Virchis getting KOed in this fight too. Gomez does punch deceptively hard, even at heavy and if he were to be in the shape to throw more power punches per round, he could actually stop him. I wish he'd prepare harder for fights though.

    Gomez KO 9

virchis only has a punchers chance. he will get a boxing lesson from gomez, who will avoid any exchange. virchis' stamina clearly isn't the best, so if he doesn't connect early he will lose by wide ud.

Gomez a out boxes Virchis to a UD. I cant understand the mess the WBC has right now, Vitali continues mess **** up again. One of these guys deserve the next crck at the title, not a guy that hasnt fought in 3 years years and lost to his training camp like 6 times.

If and when Vitali backs out of his fight against the winner of Peter/Maskaev, does that mean either Gomez or Virchis will get the next shot at the WBC title then?

Why is Vitali still in play as the one the winner of Maskaev-Peter has to meet?
What the **** has he done lately, and more importantly, what has he done in his past to justify this?
After Maskaev-Peter we will wait for the winner to fight Vitali, then four weeks prior to the fight Vitali gets injured and the world has been made a fool once again by this useless bum

People that think that Gomez could KO Virchis must be new to boxing. :nut Gomez was (and I mean _was_) a good fighter but he has faded considerably, hasn't done much at HW anyway, has no disipline and has very average power at HW. Sure, Gomez has obviously more skill than Virchis, but he's far from what he was in his heydays at CW. He isn't exactly slick anymore, he can be hit nowadays and chances are he will get knocked out.

You think Virchis is so much better than McCall?
That's also a right hooking plodder.
