Virgil Hill in the Michael Spinks era

    I think Hill could beat Lopez remember Conteh broke his hand vs Lopez and won with pretty much the jab, Hill had a terrific jab and I think he could replicate what Conteh did and out point Lopez.

    I think Hill would struggle against relentless pressure fighters like Johnson, Qawi. Hill relies mostly on the jab and despite having a few surprising early stoppages, for the most part Hill isn't noted as a puncher so I think he would struggle to keep Johnson and Qawi off him.

    I also can't see Hill beating Matthew Saad Muhammad, John Conteh, Victor Galindez, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, at their best.

    As others have said Hill was a good champion but he benefitted from a weak Light Heavyweight era, and despite his many title defences I don't really consider him a great fighter. Regarding the eye test he was a solid operator but never really stood out to me either TBH.
