I think Hill does well early on and is winning the fight until he gets with a bomb and gets knocked out. Thoughts?

Foster walks Hill down behind his own jab, and eventually puts him to sleep.

Close fight for a while but Foster always lookin dangerous. Eventually Hill leaves himself open and Bob hits the ko button.

Back in 1970 (I think)...one Ray Anderson was successful in being the first man to go 15 rounds with Bob Foster. He did so not by virtue of his fighting ability nor by his chin...and not even on account of any special defensive abilities either. He managed to go the distance with Foster because he turned the fight into a track meet....unabashedly running and avoiding any contact with BF. In doing so he was pretty much out of range throughout the fight and did no engaging with the champ in any meaningful way. I think that's the only way that Virgil Hill would be able to avoid the face of being rendered unconscious. Otherwise it's Foster putting his lights out as soon as he landed a meaningful punch on Virgil.

Listen, Hill had a nice counter left which he had to land when the other guy was not expecting it. So , if Foster made a mistake who knows. Hearns had to stay away and use his jab but he won easily. I pick Foster but I don't think Hill is the push over people seem to think he is.

Yes, and Virgil would be doing his best Mark Tessman impersonation by round 9 or 10.

I think Foster wins. But stopping Hill isn’t as easy as people think. Virgil wasn’t stopped until well past prime and that was against a peaking Roy Jones. Of course nobody Hill had faced prior to that point was the type of destroyer that Foster was but some of them could bang

Yep and that was due to a perfect a perfect body shot. Hill's granit chin showed in the Hearns and Michalchewski fight.

Hearns outboxed close to prime Hill. Tommy had nowhere near the power Foster had. How would Hill react to the 6'3" sweet jabbing, powerpunching Bob? Foster is arguably the greatest 175 pounder ever( I personally don't think so). Overrated Hill never fought anyone close to Bob whose height advantage would be quite telling. Bob blasts Hill out in 7 or 8.

I respect your opinion but do not believe that either Darius or Tommy hit anywhere near as hard as Bob Foster did.
