That was Bob's 13th pro fight and Mina was a seasoned pro by then who finished 52-3 0 ko losses. If you want to hold that against Bob feel free. Safe to say he wasn't close to his prime yet. In his 13th fight, Hill was fighting the 14-11 Eric Winbushes of the world. Great comparison on your part. I always thought in these mythical matchups we usually compare the prime or peak versions of the fighters. If you feel that's not important, feel free. I suppose next you'll have the past it, many pounds over his optimal weight Tommy Hearns, you know, the one that beat close to prime Hill, beating prime Bob as well. Or past his best Iran Barkley, who beat that version of Tommy, beating prime Bob as well. Cheers
Hill fought Herans in 91. Hill's peak was like 93-96. I'm not sure who Foster fought that was as comparable to Hill as Mina.
Foster majority dec Hill. Knocks out Hearns after some competitive rounds. TKOs Barkely. I don't think too highly of any of these guys including Foster other than Hearns at 147 and 154.
Out of curiosity, when you wrote you don't think too highly of any of these guys does that include Hill?
And there are plenty of people in this thread (or against any opponent really) picking him to win by devastating knockout. His resume wasn't any better than Hill's and his results were terrible against heavyweights including guys around 190 or less.
I think Hill was probably a little worse than Dawson h2h. I'm not sure if that means I'm underrating him.
That fight was influenced heavily by a headbutt and no rematch happened. Dawson beat Tarver, Adamek, and Johnson before that and Hopkins after. Dont be a dope.
I was a Chad Dawson fan, quite a big one at one point. But stylistically, Hill presents quite a problem for him. I think Chad was on his way to stopping Pascal, personally. But that doesn't change the fact that Pascal's speed and movement presented a plethora of problems that night until he gassed.. and Pascal ALWAYS gassed. Chad would be unable to deal with Hill's sharp jab and movement. Hill would keep him off balance all night long and take a clear decision.
There's a very good reason for that. Hill was beaten by 2 times Barkley victim Hearns. He was stopped by a Roy Jones body punch and was hammered by Darius. That's why everyone is picking Foster to hammer him. And Hill beats any of the heavies that beat Foster because they were around cruiserweight? If Tommy, Jones and Darius beat him, it's mind boggling what someone like Joe Frazier or Ernie Terrell would have done to him.
That doesn't answer the question. You wrote you didn't think to highly of any of those guys. Does that include Hill?
