Virgil Hill was a dominate champion in the era in which he boxed. But he never was really tested in his prime. How would he have done against a great warrior as Saad Mohammad? 15 Rounds.
Although I think Hill has fine boxing ability & great movement. His lack of power would hurt him in a big head to head match up with the big fighters of the division. Saad would take his time, most likely would be outpointed early. But Saad would turn it up about the tenth or eleventh. Eventually hurting Hill in the thirteenth or fourteenth. for the TKO.
Sadly, he was tested in his prime and failed against an aging Thomas Hearns who was moving up in weight. Although I respect Hill and feel that he'd actually be a good match for some great fighters head to head, I don't think I'd pick him to beat very many of them. I have to go with Saad Mohammad on this one.
that dude would **** him up. hard core *****. his head is bigger so therefor he can take a punch way better. heavy hands too are very good in fights like this. he would **** that little ***** up. word. try me. im the best at this ****
I wouldn't sell Hill short on this one.Conteh was outboxing Saad and Hill to me moves faster then Conteh. And I could also see Hill busting up Saad with that jab and forcing a stoppage. And Hill had an excellent chin-check his bout out with DM if you need confirmation.:deal
Hill didn't have any upper-body movement. He couldn't have fought the kind of fight Conteh did. He's more comparable to someone like Vonzell Johnson in style.
Hill took some great right hands and left hooks from Hearns that had him wobbling and shaky yet he didn't go down. He certainly has a solid chin. I think Hill has a decent shot at outpointing Saad over the distance. BTW, there's no shame in being outboxed by Thomas Hearns, even the 1991 version.
I'll take Hill. He had that real good jab and lateral movement in there. Plus, some whiskers and was a guy content to stink up a place to win a decision. He just doesn't take risks. Saad needs a guy that'll stand in front of him & even better, a guy that'll trade. Hill wouldn't even trade with guys ready to go, let alone a dangerous opponent. I think Hill picks and pecks away at the lackluster defense and footwork of Saad for the lopsided decision.
Saad was actually a better technical boxer-puncher than Hill imo.he didn't have lacklustre footwork, especially early in his career. He was a better punchpicker than Hill with an excellent accurate jab of his own.Overall just far more of a rounded pro style than Virgil. I think he would do surprisingly well against someone that wouldn't be taking advantage of his leaky defense and willingness to abandon his skills in a war.
BIG DEE HERE= Saad Muhammad in his prime KOs the overrated Hill as he fought his title defenses in his backyard in Bismarck, North Dakota or somewhere in North Dakota. Against mediocre competition while Saad Muhammad fought in one of the toughtest eras in Lt. Heavyweight history. PERIOD, NUFF SAID.
