he went up because thats the only way HBO would sign and pay him...they wanted him away from 168 as fast as possible so their protected lil superstar wouldnt face a fate of canelo(constantly having to duck)......

That arena holds about 20,000 people. The only ones filling it up are the Golden State Warriors...obviously.

He had very respectable numbers last time for a boxing event, something that doesn't happen often in the Bay. And it was against an opponent that is not well known.

Well this just another addition in the long line of **** Hunter says.

He was begging Canelo to move up and fight GGG after the Khan KO.

Ward moving to 175 was going to happen someday and it's no surprise he was struggling with getting down to 168. I think HBO have a better reason to protect Kovalev than GGG since he is more accomplished.

 

I can just envisage the whole Hunter household sat there with their tinfoil hats on having dinner.

Ward's onoxious mental midgets of fans, that seem so vocal on this forum, are no reason to hate on this great fighter. Regardless of reasons, he signed to fight Kovalev that is the biggest threat to anyone 175 or below. For that alone he deserves respect and admiration. Plus he is a class act, an excellent boxer and seems like a great guy.

 

Def don't hate Ward. Seems like a nice guy. Very skilled and talented. But he isn't the number 1 P4P. His lack of power will prove that in Kovalev fight.

If you absolutely must have a domestic born fighter to like, I'd pick Terrence Crawford over Ward any day. That dude is a badass.
