The truth hurts. Khan's an exciting fighter and he's got heart , but there's no way in hell he'll be able to avoid getting hit repeatedly with the right hand , left hook or both. In fact, Floyd'll probably only use his jab(to the body) for the first few rounds so people can get their money's worth, then feint and counter him to death.
Yup. You need to give Khan a good gameplan and tell him to be carefull.. that's all you can do really...
Regardless of what the opinion on Khan or Mayweather or Hunter is People here start blabbering without watching the interview. Listen to what Hunter said. He hinted Khan isn't committing himself to training. Why? He didn't say. Maybe it was a recent affair. Maybe it was him not committing himself to some very basic and repetetive drills. Maybe it was Khan not wanting to move out to the Bay area to live and train half way across the world in a quiet ass SF bay area with Hunter. Either way Hunter wants more commitment. THat's the takeaway message. Or else Khan is in for a rude awakening
just for arguments sake if there were no upsets in boxing why would anyone watch, khan would be a massive underdog for the fight no doubt but no worse than say douglas vs tyson, rahman vs lewis and countless other examples could be given. Its a ridiculous looking fight to be made on paper but you cant berate khan if mayweather wants the fight, anyone from lighweight to middleweight would accept the payday, its say more about mayweather and his pi$h poor choice of opponent than it does about khan
I agree. I think in hindsight Roach got the best out of Khan in that he at least had a very good offense with Roach. Khan with Hunter is trying to think too much and it is confusing his natural instincts. It hasn't made his defense any better but has only limited his offense, so far. I saw the interview (Hunter is great to listen to) and he says right now Khan wouldn't beat Mayweather, but if he dedicated himself to the routine of boxing he does have the tools. Sounds to me like Khan is too busy with other things going on. If he is to advance with Hunter, he has to train with him as much as possible. Doing it only on occasion is going to be counter-productive and actually worse for him in the long term.
