I don't think Canelo has especially good power but I'm willing to bet he hits harder than Julio Diaz and Algieri.

Canelo isn't a monstrous puncher or feather fisted but let's break this down. Last 10 fights his KOs are: Alfonso Gomez, Kermit Cintron, Josesito Lopez & James Kirkland. Nothing special.

    His non-KO victories include:

    Shane Mosley
Canelo was 22/23 years old at the time, lacked the experience and fatigue to finish.

    Austin Trout
He had the opportunity to KO Trout IMO but again, looked fatigued as hell and he doesn't know how to finish.

    Alfredo Angulo
Should've been a KO, Angulo is a tough SOB but was there for the taking that night.

    Erislandy Lara
Canelo hit air all night and when he did land, wasn't flush. Doesn't count...

    Miguel Cotto
Difficult to tell, Cotto was never hurt but respected his power. He's also more defensive than he used to be. Still, Canelo landed plenty and never hit him.

I think Canelo has respectable power for a JR middleweight but below average at middleweight. I don't see people hyping his power but it was hyped to the moon and back when he fought Mayweather. I think that was GBP's plan to sell the fight.

I think Canelo is more of a poor closer with bad fatigue than a weak puncher.

Ishida a feather fisted fighter knocked kirkland out in one. Kirkland dropped 40 lbs in like 7 weeks to fight Canelo, you honestly think he could take a punch after that? THen you had Angulo who Hunter just told a story about prior to his fight. He fainted the morning of the weigh in and was a dead man yet walked through every punch Canelo threw. So how hard does he really hit? I am not convinced either, cotto was comfortable all throughout the fight yet he's been badly hurt vs numerous smaller guys including pac, margarito and Torres.

Woah there! Leave Bruce out of it laaaaayyyyds!:bart

Sure he's got the Cali-botox weird shizzle going on these days but he's older than the funkin' pyramids and prob still get pure slags.:blurp
I'd love to hang with him, he seems like a gent.

Virgil though.....Christ.....he seems like he believes his own hype, except there is none. You trained Andre Ward...?
Give a fu¢k mate....:blood...the man talks like a record slowing down for each sentence as if he's doling out pure, divine wisdom from his boxing cloud. Fu¢kin fruit-loop.

And nobody on the entire planet is sold on Amir Khan's chin, so kind of a moot point isn't it.

But whatever he needs to tell himself to sleep at night when he full well knows he's bringing Khan to the slaughter.
