Virgil Hunter says Andre Ward willing to fight GGG at 168

I'd take Ward's take on making weight over Virgil's, as for the fight it's good for boxing.

 

Brand was a gimme.

If his career pans out as you say I'm in full agreement a modern ATG.

 

This is a fair question but according to Ward fan logic shouldn't Golovkin be allowed three fights at 168 before taking him on? Now I don't agree with that but then again feel Ward wasted time with both Smith and Brand. Barrera would have done nicely to acclimatise to the weight IMHO.

 

Yeah it was but it was just a stay busy fight for the Kovalev one. I think he will defeat Kovalev again, hopefully the IBF enforces the mandatory right after so he fights Beterbiev before GGG because I think he retires after a GGG he seems like he has 2 or 3 more fights left.

 

As a Ward fan I do think GGG should get a couple fights at 168 before he fights Ward so he is fully acclimated to weight. I think the Smith fight was to shake off some rust after his hiatus and Brand fight was a bit unnecessary but just a ticking over fight to keep him active until the big fight.

 

I think Ward's "legacy" is better off built on the current 175lb division as opposed to a GGG fight.

175 is stacked, alot more so than the 168 division he was top dog in.

 

I've already seen ward handled in every possible way. What you truly mean is ward can't beat the best lhw's. We already know kovalev is a couple levels above ward. Ggg would steam roll ward, I'm 100% convinced now. He ain't getting by kovalev. Like I stated few years ago, the ultimate end fight will be ggg beating down kovalev

 

It is more stacked imo but of the guys at 175 are unknown quantity eventhough I'm sure we both agree they do look the goods. Guys like Gvozdyk, Bivol and Beterbiev look great but we haven't seen them at the highest level yet to say if they are better than a Froch who is a proven dude and HOFer, Kessler who was proven, Abraham and Taylor who see good champions in their time.

 

Golovkin would get smashed by Kovalev at 175. That sparring session all those years ago don't mean **** in terms of a fight between the two now.

 

You just saw GGG go life and death with Jacobs and you think he would steam roll Ward?

 

Yes, exactly. The only way GGG could "steamroll" Ward is if Ward is very drained (i.e. a corpse) at 168 lb. I'm not sure he can make 168 lb again, but if he wants to try, I'd love to see the fight.

 

Styles makes fight and ggg didn't go life and death he cruised to a decision. Did you see ggg going all out in round 12?

 

GGG would get schooled. I think Ward might shut him out. Ward needs to rematch Kovalev first though. Have people not realized yet Kovalev is clearly better than GGG?

Kov just beat what I thought was the #1 P4P fighter in Ward, and it was a close but clear win. **** the judges.

 

This is why heavyweights are my favorite. Don't have time to argue about a couple pounds lol it's bull spit

 

Same here this would settle the debates. I don't think Ward would be too drained as he hasn't looked huge at 175.
