What does location have to do with it?

He's not fighting FOR London, same way froch isn't fighting for Nottingham? I've got mates coming round who are rooting for froch.

HBO stats show Froch throw and landed more punches in fight than Groves, including more power punches

    The stoppage was premature.

Yes Froch landed some good shots during the fight but so did Groves so I don't think that's relevant. I disagree that Froch landed '6 flush shots' at the end. He barely landed any flush and the punches didn't seem to have much in them tbh.

I don't think it matters that Groves was hurt and/or tired. That happens in fights, Groves wasn't in enough trouble to stop the fight.

The vast majority agree it was premature, the Froch fans who boo'd Groves into the ring boo'd the stoppage, Carl Froch said it was stopped too early.

I hope Hunter doesn't complain if DeGale gets a similar stoppage over Gonzalez.

I found the stoppage a bit early. Groves probably would've gotten stopped anyways but you never know. The only robbery was Froch's victory.

Funny, if Virgil Hunter is true to his logic I wonder if he thinks Amir Khan should have been stopped in round 10 of the Maidana fight. If he was in Khan's corner back then would he have been happy to see Khan robbed of the chance to recover and claim one of his best victories - Khan was in more trouble in rd 10 than Groves in rd 9 imo

fair enough, my comment was aimed at those claiming froch didn't land a punch before the 9th, i don't bother to memorize exacy who said what.

it's relevant because nobody denies gg landed good shots, only that froch did. premature stoppage for me too, though.

Yeah whatever mate. SGG is too slick, too smooth, too quick, too nimble on his feet. He delivered one of the most comprehensive boxing lessons of all time.

Carl gave Groves a sort of funny look in the 9th and the corrupt ref stepped in and robbed the GOAT of his victory.

I go back to this video http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x17m4w9_froch-vs-groves-the-stoppage_sport which shows the punches at the end pretty well. There are 4 flush ones that land at the end and Groves was hurt, didn't clinch and turned his back. I still think it was early but you really shouldn't be turning your back in a fight!

Doesn't matter now though, we'll find out tonight.

OK looking at that slo-mo there are 3 I would call flush and another 3 or 4 that I wouldn't call flush but still landed and would have had some effect. I too still think the stoppage was early, Groves was still throwing punches back and keeping his hands up, he was hurt but deserved a chance to try to recover. He didn't really turn his back either imo, he was side on at worst.
Anyway, both guys get their second chance tonight. :happy

Everything for a reason will become clear tonight Lee, your massive nosed brother is getting knocked out in round 3 and taken to hospital, i'm sure you'll find some random hospital porter to bully, but very strange how you never opened your mouth in front of George's security team.
