Virgil Hunter: What Canelo is Doing is a Mockery To Boxing!

I like Virgil Hunter...and I'm a big Andre Ward fan and I think the two have been through alot together and have a great bond...But I take this remark from Hunter with grain of salt...Why??? Because Canelo is doing the same things Hunter lauded Mayweather over the years for doing...Hunter is talking out the side of his mouth. It's a two way street...Don't feel like debating anybody on it...just my opinion.

 

Why do you keep talking about money? LOL. Are you getting a cut of Canelo's purse or something? When Canelo loses to GGG he has nowhere to go. There isn't a viable fight left for him despite his age. Nobody is going to buy his fights at that point.

BUT....YOU are going out of your way to try and say canelo isnt a star in boxing...that he doesnt earn and sell...and that to me is ridiculous....that implies that canelo doesnt make money or bring it in......so basically you brought money up....through implication

 

Bottom line is Canelo sells ppvs and GG doesn't. But Canelo can't negotiate GG's purse AT ALL. They can negotiate GG's split and still give him 15 mil.

 

That shouldn't matter really about the ppv's but if golovkin turned down his highest payday vs canelo, i don't understand that, maybe he thinks he deserves more if it's ppv, still should have taken the fight

 

Cotto started the catch weight bull, but Canelo defended once against a chinned welterweight and actively tried to have a 160lb unification fight at 155 draining a career 160lber in the process.

What Canelo tried to do is indefensible.

nobody is saying he doesn't draw any money. Just because Oscar parrots these statements it doesn't make them true. Canelo is not on the level of a Tyson, Mayweather, Holyfield, Pacquiao, hell he isn't even on the level of Wlad Klitschko or Anthony Joshua. Canelo despite his age has a very short shelf life left. Who is he going to fight after GGG? Danny Garcia? Keith Thurman? Broner? Who on earth would pay to see that garbage? IF Canelo can somehow beat GGG he does have a future left. He loses and it is all down the drain with him losing his two most meaningful fights in his career.

 

They would fight in September if im not mistaken. Second, ive seen a lot of guys turn down their highest payday for their own reasons and fans said that they ducked that fighter because they didn't take their biggest pay day. GG fans have done it, and now Canelo's fans are doing it.

 

He's the new Mayweather that has to have all the ridiculous advantages or he won't fight

 

Why is anyone giving any credence to this fraud, whether what he is saying is right or wrong.

This is the same man who has his halal boy inside his stable ducking all credible fighters in his own weight division and pricing himself out of a fight with his nemesis Brook

Meanwhile his golden goose is holding his belts hostage and threatening to retire after an agreed rematch.

Virgil Hunter is nothing but a stain on boxing as he has made a career out of mockery and pretending to be an elite trainer on the back of getting lucky unearthing a fighter with natural talent.

Canelo is a CHAMPION, he is a fighting champion, he is the best in the world at his weight. Sorry that wasn't a fair question because no one knows what Canelo's weigh class is LOL
