Neither of them need this fight. It was all about that belt and we know what happened with the belt. they should forget all this and go do their own things. GGG can do Jacobs, BJS then move up a weight or sit on his titles. Canelo can carry on doing what he is doing although im not too sure what that is at the moment.

And its not like we all dont know what would of happened had they actually had a fight. Canelo destroyed we all know the result before its even happened.

the way ggg fans spin it Canelo absolutely needs this fight.....but his certain destruction will lead to the end of his career.....so thats quite a pickle canelo is in eh? yet they wonder why hes "ducking"?

these guys act like GGG transcends boxing...and precedents.....and that a loss to ggg will end your career as an earner...lol.....such a joke

the chavez counts for nothing....but the reality is its cinco de mayo and its going to be an event....chavezs name still carries weight with that audience....this event should be somewhat successfuly financially....."smart business" right? i mean thats what we hear when it comes to ggg? make smart business decisions and get money fights right? what did brook/ggg count for?

look...we all know what canelo/oscar are up to...its no secret...i dont think anyone would logically deny what you have said ......but the reality is this....canelo has made concessions and been on the other end of big fights....hes taken CW's against floyd....hes taken the lesser end against cotto...hes taken the high risk/low reward fights like lara........and ggg just hasnt been willing to do the same...i said along time ago...if i was ggg i would have jumped at the chance to fight canelo at 154 over a year ago....the guy was running around saying he could do it for floyd...so why couldnt he do it for a guy floyd beat easily? maybe he still couldnt have gotten canelo...but if i were ggg i would have said "yeah ill do 154" and really put the pressure on canelo and make him look foolish...but ggg couldnt even do that....ggg and his fans act like he transcends everything....hes really just a cult hero who isnt as big in boxing as youd like to think...hes a star for sure...hes an excellent fighter....but hes not some major star and he has no resume.....but you guys wanna act like he has something....he needs to be willing to bow to someone who has done more and has more power in the sport

I wish had said yes to 155, i wish he would accept the $15 million and i wish he wasnt managed by K2 promotions. But im sure the A side Canelo will be expecting Golovkins titles to be on the line in this fight so the A side wants the bigger cut, fair enough but as the other guy is putting world titles on the line and the rumours being its guna be a hundred million dollar event i think to ask the champion of the 2 to take anything under what would be 20% cut is asking a bit much.

Ginger has nowhere to go. All roads lead to GGG and he has 3/4 belts. Once he gets the fourth belt, who is ginger going to fight? A trilogy with Chavez? Even Mexicans won't buy that. Marquez at 155? Rematch with Cotto at 155 again?

I Can't argue with that, but it's clear that Khan wouldn't fight Canelo at the full 160. Khan wanted the fight not just at 154, but apparently at 153 IIRC. Canelo wouldn't agree to that, which for me Canelo was in the right for. I'd say that's a bad example of something for Virgil to be complaining about. I mean having it at 155 (as opposed to 160) benefitted Khan. Virgil is complaining that the fight wasn't at 154 (a single pound below that) is ridiculous isn't it? Besides the fact that 154 is a division Below the division that the title he had was in, he's complaining that Canelo wouldn't defend his MW title at the JMW limit??

I mean imagine if Canelo hadn't agreed to 155, and instead insisted that the fight was at 160. Put the legit middleweight title weight aside for a moment, and just look at it from Khan's perspective. Canelo gave Khan a significant advantage by agreeing to 155. (as opposed to Brook GGG which GGG insisted had to be at 160)

Virgil is complaining that Canelo didn't agree to 154, for what was assuredly supposed to be a MW title defense, is ridiculous. I agree with your point that anything below 160 is a illegitimate MW title fight, but still having that fight at 154 would have made it more of a mockery than it was. The complaints you have about Canelo is the fact that he didn’t defend that title at 160, yet Virgil is complaining that Canelo didn’t defend that title at 154. It’s a ridiculous complaint considering the title he held, the precedent that Cotto had set defending it at catchweight, and the fact that Canelo was doing Khan a favor by agreeing to fight him 5 lbs below the limit, is it not?

All Roads lead to Triple G?? Who are you, Floyd Mayweather ? That's really weak of you to use Floyd's catch phrase to describe the situation that Triple G is in. Why don't you try being more original instead of quoting Floyd Mayweather lol. Need I remind you that Golovkin is not the Lineal Champion, Canelo is. Triple G needs that fight if he wants to be undisputed MW Champ. It's the biggest fight out there for both guys. Canelo and Triple G really need each other. It's silly to act like Triple G doesn't need Canelo.

If Golovkin doesn't want to fight, Canelo could fight Billy Joe Saunders later this year. (that's an option you didn't mention) Considering they are both WBO Champ (154 & 160) it's a fight that the WBO wants to make at 160. If Canelo were to win that, then Golovkin would have more of a reason to fight Canelo. But why should we have to wait until 2018 to see Canelo vs Triple G? Both fanbases should want their guy to fight the best guy out there ASAP.

Not often I agree with Shock but he's right no matter the result Canelo would get respect for taking on GGG,I mean the Chavez fight could be really good but early talk by Oscar of this possibly being a trilogy type thing has made their intentions clear and once again all talk of Sep GGG v Canelo showdown is already sounding like "fake news",some may see this as preparation for Golovkin but really I'd of been more positive if Canelo had two tune up fights at 160 and again I believe Canelo would of gotten some respect back, anyway we shall see soon enough as a fight with GGG will need some time to build up.

Yes. making Canelo fight at 152, threatening to pull out of the Maidana fight the night before is he didn't get to choose Maidana's gloves for him, he had to be the one to announce that he finally signed to fight Pacquiao. I'm sure there is much more I didn't mention.
