Vitali has yet to face anyone as fast or as defensively adept as chris. In today's division haye would likely fit the bill so i'll reserve judgement in the hope that fight comes off.

But wlad beating byrd only proves wlad beat byrd. Proves nothing about vitali. Same way vitali beating sanders doesn't prove wlad can beat sanders.

Vitali is a very good fighter imo. He lost a couple of fights. Most fighters, even those considered the greatest of all time have lost fights.

Lennox Lewis has been knocked out by non top tier opposition. His losses were far worse than vitalis.

Roy jones jr has made a new career out of getting knocked out.

Does that mean he sucks, was exposed, is not talented etc? No.
People have bad nights, people are not perfect. Every fighter has weaknesses that certain natural styles work well against.

Based on what I have seen overall from vitali, I would never bet against him and I think he would give anyone problems.

Yeah I was wrong about adamek, big deal; if I could make a living out of predicting fights i'd be much richer than I am now.

Not sure how his great performance against adamek relates here tho?

A fight against haye would be a much better indication about his ability to deal with quick defensive fighters (i don't think the kevin johnson fight did him justice)

Can't believe people are trying to give byrd credit for making vitali miss with his punches and being lucky enough to have his opponent pick up a serious shoulder injury half through the fight.

Byrd spent most of the night ducking and weaving on the ropes like a ***** hoping for a pot shot on the counter. He done well in the 5th and 8th landed a few good shots here and there but if the fight carried on it would have went to points as both fighters were overly cautious but vitali landed more significant shots and was the aggressor while byrd made the fight horrible by being scarred to death of getting hit

The bottom line is byrd got lucky and was only a paper champ as a result

Maybe but without a rematch how do we know that he wouldn't win again?

I also don't really think ducking and weaving punches makes you a ***** what was he meant to do stand there and let Vitali a much bigger man hit him?
