You don't understand... The cut was caused by a half missed shot, not a clear punch but a thump of Lewis glove tearing open Vitali's skin. So technically it's caused by a punch and so the fight didn't go to the scorecards, but still it was a lucky accident for Lennox. If it was a clear punch I would agree with you, but in this case it was as much Lewis doing as he had accidentally scraped him with an elbow after another half missed punch.
That's why Lewis directly promised Vitali a rematch, wich he never gave him and retired.
