A stone would be 14 pounds instead of 16, so I was a tad off the first time. Big whoop, I'm not even English. In that case, that would've meant Dempsey was routinely around 14 stone, which would've made your original estimate even more off base. And I'm the one that needs to kill myself? Dumb ****.
Hes not even top 30, his resume is awful. Only someone watching boxing for 6 years would have Vitali anywhere near a top 15.
I think its funny that Peter gets labeled with having a glass jaw because he was put down three times by McCline. Yes McCline isn't the biggest puncher in the world but if any heavyweight catches you properly you will be hurt and you may go down. I believe Peter being floored first by McCline was more to do with him being unmotivated and therefore under prepared when stepping into the ring plus just getting caught cold early. The other knock downs where early and not much longer after the first indicating that Peter still was not fully recovered. I think this is a more logical explanation than Peter having a glass jaw. Remember this is the same guy who took Wlad klits (who is a very hard puncher) best punchers for 12 rounds. As for Viatli's pucning power i believe he does hit hard. Knocking people down isn't just about raw power. Its timing and speed aswell. Vitali hasn't fought in 3-4 years so his natural power and speed would have decreased and his timing would be of. Couple this with Peters strong chin and that is why Vitali didn't KO or KD Peter.
Smith you need to relax man, don't insult people be respectful.. :nono and you don't seem to know a lot about boxing. I'm a fan of Vitali, but Marciano in his time was a heavyweight, he had a better resume than Vitali now and went undefeated for 49 bouts, remember in his time there was just one champion.
Don't forget Herbie Hide, seeing as he was up on the cards against VITLAY before it was stopped - that seems to be an important criteria to hitting the heights these days for some reason :huh
Here's 7 more modern fighters that could clearly get the job done: Lewis Holmes Ali Bowe Frazier Liston Holyfield You also have the likes of Foreman, Norton, and smaller guys like Marciano, Walcott, Louis, etc. Otherwise it's all subjective.
Vitali is not a legend like those fighters but he is one of the greats of his time. Just like Wlad. Both will be remembered.
The heavyweight division right now is a joke. There is no ****ing competition, this will affect the kilts bros' legacy alot.
So Jack dempsey never beat a 6'6", 245 llb monster? Check your history and come back and apologise you knob cheese.
