Byrd did not beat Vitali, he got beaten up until Vitali wasn´t able to continue due to an injury. Lewis would always beat Vitali, even if he would have to come into a wheel chair into the ring.

Wlad could become an atg if he goes on like this for the next 2-3 years and unifies all titles. Vitali never ever will be one. Too old, too inury prone and too weak of a record.

Frazier and Liston are both far more proven than either Klitschko, have the better resume and the better accomplishments. Neither Klitschko is near them greatness-wise.

 

Does Vitali have the resume of fighters? No. Does he have a track record of unbelievable/unheard of dominance that's never been paralled in the heavyweight division? Yes. Thus he's an ATG in my book.

 

The Klitschko brothers care little for "ATG" lists I would suspect.

And from my view, the lists are moot - fun on a slow day but lack anything of substance.

if wlad stays on top for a little while, really cleans out the rest of the division (well whos left anyway? povetkin, haye, valuev maybe, chagaev) then i think he deserves to be on the list somewhere, since he was the best of his era.

Firstly he beat Sam Peter who in my opinon wasnt anything special and was taylot made for him,like Ruiz was for RJJ.....and while historically it was a great accomplishment he would have to have 8 to 10 more dominant fights and then be enshrined along the others........But one thing i will definately say is i always believed he was the better of the 2 Klitschkos

For me both Klitschkos are top 10 ATGs because they dominate the sport since the year 2000.

 

Then Liston was a huge man 6 foot 1 and 215 pounds Liston has 8 good fights, counting the Patterson blow outs.
Vitili had one...Lewis...all the other fights were easy...including byrd....never down, never behind in rounds after the third, and highest KO %..... (OK the first two rounds of fat bad back Sanders was exiting)

Some just hate him because of his nationality...like Lewis was hated, some just hate him for his skin color.
I could squeese him into the top 10.

 

Both Klitschkos are top 20 ATG's. Wladimir is still ranked higher all time due to the amount of defenses & the quality of opposition. IMO Wlad will be top 10 if he can eventually unify the Heavyweight division. Vitali is top 15-20 or so based on him winning the WBC HW belt after 4 years out of the ring and no tune-up. Ali, Holmes & a few others have attempted to comeback after shorter absenses and they failed. This does not mean Vitali or Wladimir rank higher than Ali or Holmes of course, but it does go a long way.

 

Funny to see idiots like "Vargasfan" claiming that neither Klitschko is top 20 all time..................

I'd like to see someone name 20 better Heavywieghts.

 

Very lame. Both losses were due to injury and although they were both legit, it hardly means Vitali would lose everytime.
