We talked for two hours and his mum was looking at me and scanning me. "After that I went away and he called me a couple of hours later and said 'Sorry, but no'. I felt it wasn't his decision, his mum decided. I tried to change his decision, but it's difficult. "But I was appreciative to Lennox Lewis that I got the chance to prove my skills against the toughest fighter in the world. But he was lucky, because I was ahead but the doctor stopped the fight with the cut." Should Klitschko beat Sosnowski he will turn his attentions to another
lewis shouldnt come out from retirement, ever! lewis could looks sloopy sometimes when he underestimated his opponent, let alone he's been not in the ring for many years! you could see in his last fight against klitchko himself, lewis reflex was already gone... he became an easy target and inside the first 2 rounds he got nailed so many times already
Jeez Vitali get over it you lost because the "old" champ used old skills on the younger hungier fighter. I guarantee in Lewis's Corner Stewart told him to work the cut and the ref will stop the fight. quit crying about it.
if vitali is that good, he should of beaten that lennox lewis. some praise vitali for doing well, i on the other hand think that the last time lennox came in that sort of condition, he got knocked out, and that's what vitali should of done, but he's not a finisher. vitali's got many stoppages, but most due to accumulation of punches, not because he's that good of a finisher. vitali hurt lennox early, but he couldn't take him out early, and against great fighters that will cost you, and it did. vitali had the best chance of beaten lennox than any opponent before him, and he failed. simple as that really.
IF anything Vitali had his shot, and that was the first 4-5 rounds, if anything it was Lewis who was coming on the stronger, and he smashed Vitali with a few body shots before the bout was stopped, and Vitali looked in sever discomfort. Not to mention the hole he put in his face lol.
I believe Lennox would of knocked Vitali out had the fight gone on a few more rounds as Lewis Stated in the post fight interview. Lennox was not prepaired for that kind of hard fight Vitali gave him but i felt up to the stoppage he was starting to land the big ones and we all know Lewis had the punch to finish it out of nowhere , thats whats so intresting about the way the fight ended the debate will forever go on as to who would of won had the cut not occured.
Lewis was just so damn lucky he was able to open Vitali's face up with his fists and then continue to target the cut with his godamn lucky accuracy.:smoke Vitali let it go:good
so what about all the other cuts? It started off with a gash on his eyelid, atthe end of the fight there were two, very close together which if they had gotten any worse his eyelid would have been hanging off. Cuts below the eye also and on and inside his mouth. Lewis did 'smash his face to bits'. And no, his cutman didn't make it worse although at first glance it looks like he did. If you slo mo the vid the vertical tear was already there before he touched hiim.
VITLAY is acting like a bit of a tool. Lewis beat the guy fair and square. This has been done to death.
The cutman did make it worse in the third but the majority of damage was done by Lewis and he had multiple injuries. VITLAY was lucky it was stopped when it was as he may well have been done an injury that wouldn't have allowed him to fight again.
Lewis would have won if the fight continued. You could see the amount of punches that Lennox was managing to connect just before the stoppage. Another properly placed uppercut by Lewis, and Vitali's eye injury might have needed serious surgery...
