Maybe. Do you want to know who those guys were in modern (or semi modern terms)? Lyle, Shavers and Norton were all basically variations of Ray Mercer. They were tough, durable guys with decent boxing skills that could never quite get there. Whether or not they could beat the Klitschkos, who :huhknows? I don't they would have outlasted Vitali.

Lennox Lewis would a tough fight for any HW in history along with Ali, Louis, Forman & the Klitschkos.

 

i'm sick of hearing about the 70s. the 90s was a much better era for heavyweights

they would have been top contenders in any era of heavyweights, even the 70's. and this is coming from a guy who cheers for whoever the klitschkos are fighting every time.

 

pretty ignorant thought here. Shavers who was six ft tall, Norton and Lyle would have about as much chance vs. either current form Klitschko as Peter, Brewster or Chagaev.

PeterBrewster and Chagaev could all beat Norton Shavers and Lyle too. Those are all even money fights IMO

Bottom line, K brothers could dominate any era, ANY ERA.

 

I kinda agree with your frustration about glorifying the past - but the 90's weren't better than 70's, it actually diminishes your point.

He clearly said the Klitschkos COULD dominate in any era, he didn't say they WOULD as in he's certain.
