If he's the one that can't accept that he lost to Lewis, then why does Lewis always have to give tips to Vitali's opponents in hopes that they will somehow beat him? Why doesn't Lewis just move on?
He picked the #2 Heavyweight out there, if he could have picked the #1 he would have done so easily but that's his brother and he won't fight him. How is that cherry picking exactly?, got anyone else he should have called out?, if so please mention them. Got to hate the nutcases that jump in Heavyweight discussions saying certain fighters duck each other like the division is full of serious talent.
I've already said i wasn't talking about the Peter fight but his career as a whole. Look at his level of opposition, its ****ing terrible for a guy with his talent, its shameful cherry picking.
Lewis retired, Vitali was rated #1 with Sanders #2 on the WBC rankings. They had to fight each other for the vacant title and they did. Was there anyone else?, is it Vitali's fault this fight was what he HAD to take if he wanted that title? Above all, is Vitali is control of the WBC rankings?
Alright, let's talk about his career as a whole then. Was there anyone better that he could have fought during his career?, please mention them and who were they supposed to replace.
James Toney was the one calling everyone out, he was offered a fight with Vitali Klitschko when he needed it THE MOST after his steroid use against Ruiz and banishment from fighting for the WBA title. James wasn't in a position where anyone gave two shits about him and he needed ANYTHING he could find. Then comes Klitschko who he spoke junk about ALL his career and in EVERY single interview wit ha legitimiate OFFICIAL trash talking-free career highest pay-day($3million) and a shot at a title to boot. What did James "the buffet king" Toney do?, he turned it down publicly and demanded he's worth more. Worth more FOR WHAT?, whoever backed the buffet king here was sliced to pieces. David Tua. Where was Tua when Vitali was active?, he was semi-retired and only returned when Vitali was already retired with his injuries, his fight fight was in 2005 after 2 years off since 2003. He wasn't considered a ranked fighter at the time and was looked at as someone who's retired. The only reason he got a lot of attention when he returned in 2005 is because Vitali was retired and he had a shot at getting the vacant WBC title. What is he doing lately anyway?, again it's nothing. Evander Holyfield. You're being serious here or just looking to add any name you could?, both Klitschkos already admitted they have a lot of respect for Holyfield to sign a fight with him, even if they WANTED to, has Holyfield won ANY decent fight to encourage that?, the man is BEYOND shot and a pointless fight, even his recent record confirms that. Hardly an opponent at this point. Oliver McCall. The same McCall who lost to Devaryll Williamson one month before Vitali was set to fight Danny Williams?, good pick indeed. I remember back then that McCall was considered and looked into as a possible opponent, that loss didn't help take those talks to the other level. Andrew Golota. If you added McCall, Holyfield, Toney and Tua without knowing anything about their situations then I won't be surprised if you don't know about Golota's either despite all the fuss back then. Draw with Chris Byrd, loss to John Ruiz and TKO1 to Lamon Brewster. He's worth the shot of course, those are THREE different titles shots that he failed in, why is a fourth necessary?, he was also considered but he didn't help take it far and Vitali shouldn't be blamed for that. Brewster was the best pick back then and was in plan after Rahman for Vitali, retirement blew it off.
He could of fought any of them fighters around 99', he chose to fight bums instead after he beat Hide.
Sanders was the #2 on the WBC with Vitali #1, they had to fight each other if they wanted that title. Johnson was the opponent scheduled to fight Lennox Lewis instead of Vitali but got injured and Vitali replaced him. After the fight with Lewis, team Lewis told Vitali to take care of their original opponent in Johnson first and that's what Vitali immediately signed to do and got the job done in impressive unexpected fashion, no one expected Vitali to blow away Johnson that early and quickly. Now it means nothing of course because it already happened, typical stupidity.
If you think he fought the best opposition available, then frankly, you're talking nonsense. Ed Mahone Timo Hoffman Orlin Norris Vaughn Bean Ross Purrity And these were after beating Hide, absolutely terrible resume for a guy of his talent and inexcusable.
He was still rising at that point and mostly fought his mandatories. After Hide he did fight Mahone, Sullivan, Byrd, Bean, Norris, Purrity, Donald and the main man Lennox Lewis. Not so bad if you ask me. You just mentioned random names for the sake to making a list when you didn't know anything about these guys nor their situations.
No they're not, most of those were mandatories and Purrity was coming off a win over his brother, how is he horrible?! Bean was also considered a good enough opponent and Donald too who you missed. As I said, at that time when he fought those who else was open and available?, did anyone good enough call him out?, mention them please as the names you mentioned can't even get in this conversation.
Purrity had drawn 2 fights and lost another since beating Wlad and entered the ring that night with an outstanding record of 28-14-3 and hes fighting a guy whos recently been fighting world title fights? Give me a break.
He can still justify taking that win simply because he beat his brother, things can get personal with why or how fighters pick fights and if beating his younger brother isn't personal enough then what is?
Game...Set...Match. Thank you Scar. If you were still a mod i`d say you might as well close this thread out. It`s over.
