The WBC has been on the record as saying they are done with unification matches but I doubt seriously that they would enforce it. Dan Rafael of espn already speculates that he believes part of the deal of Vitali vacating the title is a handshake agreement that Wlad will be able to fight for the belt in the very near future.

Someone please explain how Wilder got ranked #3 WBC without ever fighting anyone nearly ranked? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$??????????????????????

It so appears that Don King has Stiverne tied up in court and will not allow him to fight anyone. How many fighters has Don King destroyed? You know what Tyson said about him, not to mention so many others...........

    haha.... typical

so as long as hes american YOU dont care - so even if somehow deontay wilder swings another wild punch and manages to knock stiverne out - and then goes on and fights light hitting fraud contenders for the next 2 years until someone cracks his china jaw, then ur alright with that, bcause hes american??

no wonder people are turning to MMA when boxing is even managing to convince the fans that the best dont have to fight the best anymore

GBP bought his ranking, let it go already. Everyone knows he didn't earn it, but promoters run the sanctioning bodies. That's how Vitali kept the WBC in his pocket for so long while he "decided what to do".

    He's not retired yet.
He should, but he's not that kind of person, i think.
He's too prideful to retire without a big last match.

Technically you're right he only vacated the title probably to prevent from being stripped of the title. He hasn't actually announced his retirement. You maybe right I could see him arranging another fight in the Ukraine to help promote his campaign for presidency.

The WBC rule is that they will allow unification fights but you can't keep more than one of the belts after the fight so in theory Wlad could fight the WBC champ and then lose the wbc belt after the fight. I'm sure everyone would recognise him as the champ then anyway.

He unified before the WBC made the ruling.

Wlad might have to go to America if the fight is against Arroela.

Sulliyman won't let Bontey control over all the refs, judges etc , therefor no fight. If Wlad went and fouled and mugged Arreola , and there is no doubt that would happen , he would become the biggest figure of ridicule in all sport, so he is better off to stay put.

Pretty sure he unified before they changed the rules.

Congrats to vitali, would of loved to of seen him fight a few of these up and coming heavyweights, but respect for going out on top. Would love to have an american grab a belt so that maybe I could actually watch a heavyweight "title" fight on tv rather than a shitty stream on my computer. Long as wlad gets to destroy them after a few defenses and gets to finally unify all the belts all is right with the world.

Dude people just want to see mainstream American Heavyweight boxing again. People miss it and here's the chance. Hopefully we can see Areola or Wilder win the belt. Plus with the right hype we can get NEW casual boxing fans.
