Vitali Breaks All The Rules

I was just watching some of Vitali's fights. He breaks all the rules. He doesn't even hold his hands up to protect himself. By keeping his hands down his arms don't get tired. It's tiring to hold your hands up in front of your face, especially for a big guy. Look how he stalks Solis. He comes in leading with his head. Who else could pull that off?

    He leaves himself wide open.

A tall powerful puncher would punish him badly.

He's great at the lay-back. It's a nightmare trying to tag people like that with out leaving your self open.

Indeed, the lay-back & the lean in are his trademarks. When you have a chin as good as him you can do pretty much anything.

Honestly mate, my sparring partner is like this but obviously not quite as good. Seriously he has a leaky guard but he'll usually dodge the punches that get through it. I agree that Vitali's opponents haven't been great despite what people say but he's tottally dominated them and only lost about 10-15 rounds in his entire career. I think he would have lost more in other era's but he's still very hard to hit and effective at what he does.

His bread and butter is counter punching, he leaves his hand's down to bait people in.

Dude is one of a kind in HW history. Peter gave Wlad trouble in both fights, Wlad jab-grabbed Sammy even in the rematch, yet Vitali walked out for the first bell after 4 years of absense with both hands down and beat the **** out of him. As Steward says he just senses everything coming and doesn't afraid to take a chance to beat yout to the punch, that's why I support the guy over Wlad who often looks nervous in there. Vitali is utterly relaxed no matter what's going on around him.

Lewis was the only guy who caught him backing up, ripped up the eye that way and he lost the fight, it would take a very big man like Lewis with a champions heart to catch him. The guy is a totally awkward fighter and even announcers get fooled, which fools guys who know nothing about boxing into thinking he sucks. Wrong. He's very smart in that ring. He always has his mouth open so people think he's tired, he pot shots you until your out of gas and then goes for the kill, he doesn't really take many risks early in fights, so people say he doesn't have one punch KO power, well very few guys ever have, his punches are not fast enough to generally catch guys off guard which is what makes one punch power, but they are effective shots and they get there, once he's worn you down he either ko's your ass or he has beaten you senseless for 12 rounds, just ask Shannon Briggs.
