It has just been reported that the fight with McCline is off. Vitali underwent a back surgery. More news coming soon

im a big fan of the klitschkos, and wish they get their dream of holding belts at the same time. but if vitali is this injury prone then it's probably best, and safer! to sit back and enjoy his brother's success from the comfort of a armchair, with extra padding.

it gets to a point where HBO or showtime might be unwilling to show his fights due to uncertainy of it going ahead after spending money on advertising etc. etc.

    :|

well at least he went out in style, instead of a ko loss or something.

Aww, man, Vitali is such an f'n ***. He's gonna let a little thing like "back surgery" get in the way of a magnificent return to the ring. Vitali reminds me of that ultra-cute church girl you knew when you were young. She'd give you all the signs in the world that everything was gonna work out and as soon as you thought you were about to get some she'd hit you with the :nono of death. F'n tease. Retire for good already.

Well, there were complaints of too little hype, and maybe this is why: it would've been a waste of advertising dollars. I hope he comes through, but this is really ridiculous. I wonder why there was no indication beforehand, was this emergency surgery, or have they just announced it too late?

On the one hand, I'd love for Vitali to come back, and to claim the success of which he seemed capable, but on the other, at least one less mandatory contender for the WBC title could make the title picture clear up sooner!

We'll know tomorrow. If this was an emergency surgery than obviously he wont step into a fight.

Jeez, you guys don't waste any time, do ya?? You must know that the idea that Vitali would be "afraid" of the mediocre McCline is rather ludicrous.

It is unfortunate that Vitali is injury-prone, but it is pretty clear that he is. His whole career is one long history of injuries. I hate to say it, but it lends credence to some of the steriod accusations against him, frankly.

Can't blame the man for being injured, but its time to go for good.
