Vitali's got a pretty good punch, similar to what Lennox had, but that's not one punch KO type of power.

Wlad, Tyson, Foreman, Tua, Marciano, Liston, are all a step above.

 no lennox lewis didn't have one punch ko power despite being a bigger puncher than half the guys you listed.

    FAN BOY ALERT

    **** his %%%

when he knocks out people worth a ****, let me know.

also, rule of thumb....great knock out guys do it in the early rounds...they dont jab jab jab and TKO people in round 9,10, 11
they also lay them out on their back for 10 counts....
you nut huggers are truly making yourselves look like the idiots you are
    :patsch:patsch:patsch

You are not really countering anything. Two people with distorted perception won't make one sharpshooter, they will just miss the target in different ways.

There are many reasons Vitali have high KO percentage, and many of them have nothing to do with being a great puncher:
    - his opposition during first 30 fights was quite weak (and HW is also weaker than it generally was)
    - some of the fights are oficcially KO's, but in fact they were stopped just because he was winning it easily (like Purrity - there was no way Purrity could win, but in US he would be probably allowed to go 3 more minutes and finish the fight)
    - when comparing with other era's, you also have to take into account nowadays referees are much quicker to stop the fight whenever they think someone could be in danger. Also, quiting during a fight (let alone titlefight) was not happening on daily basis.

Comparing numbers is only valid if you know what they mean and how were they obtained.

    >>It is easiest to KO a bum. Fact, Vitali has the least amount of sub .500 fighters on his record * when he fought them )* of any heavyweight champ you can name in the past 80 years. He also stopped some very hard guys to stop, and pretty much owns the fastest KO vs his oppoents.

    >>And these days they use safer gloves, not the lighter 6-8oz gloves in the past. Furthermore, shortening a fight from 15 rounds to 12 limits the chance of a KO. So you see the argument has another side of the coin.

The fact remains that Vitali has the highest KO% in the history of heavyweight boxing champions. If Vitali were fighting cursier weights sized oppoents as Foreman, Marciano, Liston, or Demspey did in many fights, he crush them like egg shells. In fact Vitlai did fight two crusiers who moved up to heavy. They were Herbie Hide and Orlin Norris. The two fighters lasted a combined 3 roudns.

Vitali never fought a man who fought as a pro middleweight. I betcha did not know Ali was stopped in the amatuers and once even lost on cuts.

In fact Ali once lost as a pro to a sub 200 pound fighter.

Face it your no match for me. And I dare you to accept a life time ban if I can produce the ESPN classic link where Dundee says the break in the Cooper fight was several minutes. I will wait until it re-airs, then you are meat.

Your move. I will log on in 24 hours to check if you are willing to take this dare.

Ah the amateurs...well if you want to bring up meaningless **** I'll bring up Pele Reid KO'ing VITLAY in 1 round and Maskaev KO'ing him in 2 rounds.

Far less meaningless than that I'll bring up VITLAY being booted out of the Olympics for steroid abuse.

Who's no match for who again? :hi:
