A friend of mine is a decent barometer of fighters popularity amongst the general public / casual fans if you like

He knows Haye, he watched him beat Mormeck and most of his subsequent fights

I think this would be a successful PPV but I'm not even thinking about this fight til I see em doing the ringwalk

Yeah, I've got a mate like that. I know if he's interested in a fight/ boxer then its "crossed over" into the casual fans interest.

Brilliant news. A bit ambitious on Sky's part to put it on PPV, though; Haye hasn't yet got crossover appeal. We'll all buy it but will the man in the street? They best promote it well.

I hate SKY having these fights its a joke. How many American fights are they going to put on PPV if they pick them up? The only PPV fights I got were Hattons on PPV as for Khan he doesn't deserve my money. Haye I will have to get the fight but if it is 2 fights in 2 weeks I will be ****ing pissed off. Why dont they have Haye and Maywheater on the same night 1 PPV from Germany and US like Setanta used to do a double header. Us boxing fans are getting ripped off by SKY for boxing. Imagine if SKY were to put big matches from the Priemier League on PPV there would be uproar. I think every single boxing fan should boycott SKYs PPV fights and bombard them with emails over paying for these fights its a joke.

Yeah, I think with it being in Europe at a decent hour anf if Sky clobber the PR in the football half times etc then this will do OK as a PPV.

I agree, and I like Haye. It would have made more sense to have it on one of the sky sports channels and if he wins then move his fights to ppv.

When this fight was first mentioned I was expecting it to be the early part of the SBO PBF v JMM show

To have 2 PPV's on consecutive weeks is a big ask during the credit crunch. If Sky were clever they should offer a PPV deal 2 for the price of 1 which would bring in a much wider audience

Surely 2 back to back PPV's is too much of an ask by Sky? Surely they will do some sort of promo?

Haye/Vitali will **** all over Marquez/Mayweather in numbers if it's marketed properly. If I buy only one, it will definitely be the Haye fight.

Vitali is still very well known from his fight with Lewis. Haye is reasonably well known too. And HW boxing is still a big draw.

If we see Haye trash talking all over sky sports news then people will watch.

After the alleged poor ticket numbers for JMM v Floyd and the general all round buzz I'd be surprised if Sky put this on SBO. It'll be on but i reckon on Sky Sports.
