Unless it's against a killer like Chris Byrd.

Seriously, guys, how can anyone claim to anything about the outcome of this fight when we haven't seen Vitali for years? He's a complete unknown quantity at this point.

Peter is a hell of a fighter to come back against with no tune up. Logic would say that Vitali shouldn't be favored, but the facts are that we have nothing to base predictions on.

Sure. I'll put up a Vitali avatar if he wins, you use a Peter avatar. The time will run from the fight til the day after election day, when our other bet will kick in!

I think Klitschko should jump on Peter right from the get go. I have a hard time seeing how Sam Peter can win this fight. With Vitali's height and reach, his durability, and his overall strength, I think Peter will have a tough time in this fight, no matter how rusty Klitschko is. Style-wise I think Peter is made to order for Klitschko.

Vitali is 6 feet 8 inches tall, used his heightl combination of Euro style and kickboxing style, works for him and upsets his opponents.

Vitali was a 6 time world superheavyweight kickboxing champion, both pro and amateur.

Vitali was the International boxing champion, world military champion, lots of amateur fights, you name it.

Vitali was the WBO and WBC world heavyweight champion.

Vitali has a fantastic jab, his right hand is awesome, left hook, upper cut, hook of the jab, can fight on the inside or outside, etc. He is quick also. Have great defense, great chin.

Peter should try to go over the distance and to become the more active man in the second half of the fight. That could work. If he tries to KO Vitali in a mad rush in the first 3-5 rounds, he'll loose by knockout.

Saying peter is a top level fighter might be a stretch......he has wind up power, which probably wont work against vitali.
Wlad was able to school peter for 12 rounds and the"knock downs" were not all legit....one was a maybe knock down and the other 2 were illegal...vitali stays away ....takes his time...paces himself...and finishes peter off in 7-8 rounds.
Peters ONLY chance is to cut vitali or kick him in the knee!

  I guess bookmakers have no logic then. The odds on Vitali to win this fight have gone as follows:

    -125 (opened)
    -150
    -175
    -200 (now)

Vitali is the favorite and people are heavily betting on him to win.

    a. vitaly has made it through camp without injury which has been his toughest time for problems; b. "top level HW" is a relevant term- peter may be top echelon in this division but that ain't too much; c. is peter really 28?; d. if fit, even at 37, vitaly should be able to win this primarily with a jab and experience given the limited skill set of sam peter

Vitali by KO in five for me - Peter just does not impress me with his skill set and his conditioning is crap. A fat HW with the punching power of a CW against a taller, strong chinned, aggressive fighter - Dr Fragile comes away with this.

Just so many question marks regarding Klitschko. Still, have to like his chances here.

Him towering over pretty much everyone doesnt help either.

As I have said before, Vitali would have to be COMPLETELY shot in order to lose the fight. I know many comparisons have been made of former HW Champs who made comebacks and failed miserably. This is valid, however>

Vitali retired in his physical prime, he was injured obviously, but he did not leave the sport with eroded skills.

Vitali has not taken much punishment in his career. He was in a handful of hard fights, not a lengthy span of wars and headshots and having to recuperate.

Vitali has always kept himself fit. He didnt have to drop weight and kill himself to get back into fighting shape. He was always healthy, even if he was injured.

Vitali has POWER. He can put you down with one shot. Power is the last thing to leave a fighter.

Vitali has a chin. Like I said before, he didnt take a lot of punishment, and having a good chin is not something that you lose like stamina or reflexes.

Vitali is Intelligent. He is an educated man and he does not need to fight in actuality to support himself. He knows the level he has to perform in order to fight at the top level, he is not comebacking for paychecks. He would not be returning to the sport unless he honestly knew he was capable of fighting at the necessary level.

Based on that, I expect him to knock Peter on his ass and walk away with the nice green belt.

Vitaly is cruder than Wlad, but is mentally perfectly suited to fight. He loves it, while Wlad has the physical traits, but would prefer to do something else if he could earn the same.

Got Dame man!! give it a break he lost by decision it not like he was whooped totally .

Vitalis has been out of boxing for 4 years and no one at Heavy weight is afraid of his injury prone fragile ass.
