No need to denigrate Byrd; he was really lowering the boom on Vitali and landing a series of extremely punishing left hands...Chris was a serious heavyweight at that time.

Byrd was a decent champ for some time and have some pretty good win but he was never a force to be reckoned with. I have followed Byrd since his fight with Purity and I still watch his fights. It was very sad seeing him vs Shaun George.

 

Jeez Johnson is a big guy but looks small in comparison to VK...

I wonder if he gives VK a tougher fight than Arreola??

 

I used to watch him on Tuesday Night fights. He really was like a humming bird back then, floating in front of his guy until the last second, and then nowhere to be found.

Who cares about this fight, I can't wait to see the numbers this fight does. At least with the Arreola fight, you had latino's accounting for the bulk of the veiwing numbers. This fight will do record low numbers, similar to the Gomez fight.

It's no secret I hate the Klitschko's. I at least like Vitali as a fighter. Wlad is part of the reason noone watches heavyweight boxing anymore in the US. Boring in the ring and has no personality. His gay peace sign he does after every match he wins, is really getting the fans attention.:tired

Stop the ridiculous hatred! Boring? KO percentages in the 90's, Vitali ridiculously busy fighing 4 times in 14 months! Wlad injured but taking on the best there is to offer...maybe their competition isn't terrible...maybe they are just that good...Because they don't struggle with opponents they get criticized...maybe Vitali should carry johnson for 12 rounds maybe he will get a little credit because KOing his opponents isnt enough i guess...

Would Haye walk through Sam Peter and Arreola the same way? He couldn't deliver on his KO promise against Valuev who albeit huge is not a good boxer...I think if you eliminate the K-bros you put boxing on an even plane with more competition and good 12 round brawls...Don't penalize these guys because they are far superior to all other fighters today...

BTW Vitali was winning on all cards against LL...No skill? He was beating the Champ until the champ saw his opportunity...a cut...which LL proceeded to clinch and press his wrist, head or anything else he could into the cut to open it up...this cowardly plan worked and the DR. stopped it...The rest is history, a promised rematch, then retirement with his TALE BETWEEN HIS LEGS LIKE A COWARDLY BEATEN DOG!!!!

Boring like Haye-Valuev? You did not address the reason for the cut nor did you address LL running away...As far as i'm concerned that fight was a great fight and obviously the decision was a victory for LL...But the fact remains, VITALI RETIRED LENNOX...

Because no one challenges the K-bros isn't their fault...What about the Sam peter wlad fight...plenty of excitement and a great rally by wlad to win...last time he was really challenged...
