For someone who main legacy fight was a cuts loss - to win on such a cut [which was below the eye and not interfering with Charrs vision] against such a poor opponent who wasnt hurt at all - This was nothing short of embarrassing and actually dilutes standings in heavyweight history

No, you're wrong. Vitali is THE top heavyweight of all time, a shared honor with his brother.

Vitali would cause any heavyweight in history problems but sadly he doesnt make the top 20 list of best heavyweights...

He is a Top15 heavyweight of all time.

Very interesting career. Vitali appeared in The Ring's Top10 in 1999. Now, he has 10 successful defenses of the WBC title. Impressive KO%. His loses were against the best fighters he faced, but always because of medical conditions: shoulder injury and cut. He was never KOed or losing on the scorecards.

However, his win resume is mediocre. His best wins are over Sanders (#3), Peter (#3), Arreola and Solis.

I think his weak record is balanced by a great accomplishment: his impressive comeback and campaign during 2008-2012, while past his prime.

Beating a fringe contender in a weak era = ATG Top 10

    Only in Klit land.

Giving the Slappy Joe crowd a run for their money.

How can that be though? That is a **** poor resume and nowhere nears worthy of top 15 ATG'ness. 25 and that's being generous. A win over Wlad would make him top 15. But not if he retired tomorrow.

So you're saying he lost to a fighter that wasn't his best/2nd best opponent? Not exactly helping yourself there. . .

Holmes and Marciano had other achievements that secure their spot. The only argument for Vitali are abstract notions like longevity and KO ratio, criteria that no-one offered for any fighter before Klittards came along.
