Tyson was the youngest ever (and still is) undisputed champion at 21 that's why he's an ATG. You still didn't answer my question, what was Vitali doing at that age?

I didn't say he wasn't an ATG. I'd rate him in the 20's all time, ironically.

Bad choice of words but it doesn't change the facts. He was the youngest HW to unify the then serious belts at an age when most fighters haven't even turned pro yet, Vitali wasn't even a boxer at that point. Besides, Vitali has never been anywhere near undisputed in his own family ffs.

What does age have to do with anything? Not impressive when you look at tyson's opposition.

Vitali isn't top 10 all time. His resume doesn't back it up. He ranks higher than the names on his record suggest, because the last 10/11 of them (from the Peter fight) were fights where he was clearly past his best and not the fighter he was, but top 10 is too far

I think if you look at all the names that come up in everyone's ATG lists, Vitali may have a place just outside all of these names (so maybe in the top 25 or top 20) but top 10 is unjustifiable in my eyes. I think he stands at around the place Bowe does (who should be considered about a top 20/25 fighter)

All of the guys that Marciano defneded the belt against were old handpicked men. he won the title against a 38 or champion and was losing the fight until he got his lucky punch in

You are as bad as Vitali's detractors on here! Rocky fought and beat the champion of the world (back when that meant something) who may have been 38 but was still the best in the world! He also may have been behind on the cards but he was not get dominated....Chavez beat Taylor no matter how you slice Rocky beat Charles/Walcott both top 20 ATG's at HW on any credible list...not bad when you add Moore,Layne, Old Louis etc. to his list.

In boxing there is not really so much a thing as a lucky punch, except to idiots with agendas...There are well placed and timed punches that get set up over the course of the fight...You need to watch some Rocky fights rather than spouting idiotic drivel that anyone who actually watched those fights would recognize as totally false!

Floyd Patterson is the youngest ever HW champion (Undisputed)...tyson is only the youngest title holder, something which means a lot less in the annals of history!

Floyd Patterson born 1-4-35 beat Archie Moore for the world title, lineal title, undisputed title at the age of 21 years 10 months and 26 days....You know the title for beating the man who beat the man who beat the man etc.

Mike Tyson won a world title (NOT THE WORLD TITLE) when he beat Berbick to become the youngest belt holder at the age of 20 years and 5 months....he did not however become WORLD CHAMPION, undisputed/lineal until he beat Spinks at the age of 21 years 11 months and 28 days.

    Close but no cigar!

Stupid fight, embarrasing choice of opponent. Vitali only keeps going due to the division being the worst ever....
