Vitali would win a clear decision by like 5 points. Terrell has a better jab imo and would beat him to the punch with his faster combos. Terrell did very well in his era, and beat nearly everyone of note besides Ali and Thad Spencer, in his prime that is. Terrell has a slightly longer reach, even if he is shorter than Vitali. Vitali would eventually out muscle him and start wearing him out in the late rounds and probably would take a clear decision. Terrell would trouble Vitali.
Even though I really like Terrell, being a guy from Chicago and all, I can't give him much of a chance against Vitali... Ernie's got nothing to hurt him with and stood too stationary.. He'd get steamrolled.
It would be a long and boring fight, that more resembled a waltz than a heavyweight boxing match, but I think Vitali would throw more and land more, and come off with a clean UD
Ernie proved himself over the championship distance against Machen, Chuvalo and Doug Jones. His career in music proved he had rhythm. Vitali has the face of a doofus, and looks like a dork. Like his brother, he's obviously a nerd, a geek and a total dweeb. If he boxed while wearing a buck tooth gum shield, would anybody notice the difference? Magoo, you're a traitor to Chicago. Isn't Vitali Russian for Harold, Elmer, Gomer, Norman or Fred?
Terrell did not beat Chuvalo fair and square. Chuvalo was robbed in that fight. Bernie Klickman threatend Chuvalo's Manager like he did Herbert Muhammad. If Chuvalo had of stopped Terrell Chuvalo's manager was told he would end up in the bottom of lake Ontario in a cement box. Fortunately it went to the cards and all the reporters and people gathered around Chuvalo at the end of the fight untill the score was announced.
Oh come on. I have the Terrell v Chuvalo fight on tape. Terrell easily outpoints Chuvalo over the first 11 rounds. Then the last four rounds are fairly even, maybe with a slight edge for George. 12-3 Terrell would be fair. I love Chuvalo and Terrell was boring to watch, but robbery - No way! Woller
I have never been able to watched the fight I watched this interview with Chuvalo and his story sounded pretty convincing to me, but maybe it was a made up story. Go to the 4 min mark if you want to hear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=bpkxLaIBGZQ
I would love to see the fight thank you very much, I have wanted to see the fight for some time. Maybe Chuvalo likes to tell some pretty exsaggerated stories lol.
Didnt Ali decided to toy with Terrell for calling him 'Clay'? I assume thats why he went the distance
