Hmmm, you may be the only one to pick VK on this thread, while EVERYONE else picks Holmes....

    And I don't know ****??

I know boxing. You know Kltischko love. that is all. If Klitschko was a ballerina you would be on a ballerina board talking about how he is the greatest ballerina of all time.

Now get on back to your Klit fan site..... the grown ups are talking.

Closer fight than probably most would expect but it has to be Holmes by UD. Easily one of the best heavyweights of all time.

    right , holmes' resume :
a robbery vs old ken norton , a thumbing stoppage of post prime earnie shavers , a decision over past his peak shavers in which holmes went down , defenses against anonymous bums , robberies over green witherspoon & green carl williams , decision loss 2 a partially disabled former lightheavy .
    very thick resume .
If Holmes makes my top 20 all time @ hw then it's primarily due 2 his performances in his elderly days .

u still ignored d fact that i exposed d **** which was your post and just repeated it . what bothers me in your posts is not your insisting on holmes' higher workrate & speed , but u will keep ignoring it because this is what d common e journalist of lower level does when his agenda drives him in2 arguments he knows he's wrong at but must comment on . and i repeat : don't think this post is about who was faster & had d higher workrate , keep 2 your beliefs there , but i already replied y it wouldn't have mattered even if u were right , u read it , quoted it , had 2 argument against it but kept arguing as if my post eluded u .
i know u read it , understood and secretly agree but u keep arguing despite having no counter arguments at all .

that was the worst unintelligible post I have read in along time.

It was as if you took your thoughts and channeled them through a mentally handicapped person to post for you.

All I got from it is that you have a bias against Holmes for some reason.

A fair while ago but I'm pretty sure in Holmes Ali he had no belly. When Larry was around 210 to 215 was his prime when he was fighting the likes of Ali, berbick and Spinks. Go get your facts straight klitard

not to say Holmes wouldnt not struggle a lot early on with Klitman's size and jab but in the end I think he is going to decision him over the distance.

Extremely brash, biased attack on Holmes here. Not all of it necessarily untrue. Witherspoon and Williams were figured to be walkover defenses, which sort of became Larry's schtick after the Cooney fight. Not only were they not, but rather extremely disputed decisions.

This match is close to 50/50. I am a fan of both guys and have seen most of their matches.

Holmes had great hand speed, a great jab, a very good chin, and great stamina. He also fought smart, but he also could get caught by right hands, and sometimes lost focus in the middle rounds. Holmes had some shaky moments vs. Punchers, boxers, and boxer-puncher types mostly because he was just a solid hitter.

Vitali is better than anyone Holmes beat and had the size, right hand, and activity level to make things difficult for Holmes. Vitali's boxing ability is severely under rated he has never lost more than two consensus rounds on the score cards in any of his fights. On defense he fights tall, moves his head some, and has good punch anticipation, has escape ability with his feet, and blocking ability with his hands.

This one could be tough to judge. I get the sense Vitali would throw and land more punches, and may even produce a knockdown, but Holmes might land the cleaner punches and wins some of the rounds by a bigger margin.

I'm going with the general concensus that Holmes takes this. Too fast, too accurate, he'll start timing Vitali lazy jab and too durable to be KO'd. Holmes will be the more busy of the two (IMO) hitting Vitali with more clean, crisp punches to take a UD, possibly late TKO if Vitali gets cut. Holmes however, had a habit of getting tagged by the right hand from practically every fighter he ever fought and Vitali pumps his right out a fair bit so it definently won't be smooth sailing like some are suggesting.
