No, you're interpreting it incorrectly. Lennox was not training because he was fighting a "bubba". Think of it like this, the guy a completely out of shape Lennox Lewis stopped by TKO6, knocked out that same bum (LL was preparing to fight) five months later in just two pathetic rounds.

Vitali surely isn't even close to LL but he also isn't as perpetually/permanently out of shape as Kirk Johnson either. Credit goes to Lennox for being correct that even completely out of shape he was still more than talented enough to handle a Klitschko.

 

Johnson, Toney are "completely out of shape", Lewis was nothing even remotely close to that, that's ridiculous. Lewis was slightly heavier than usual which in these weight regions really means **** all. The matter of fact was that Lewis was heading towards the end of his career and simply began to slide, so Vitali was getting the better of him that night, that's all there is.

 

How the hell can someone get credit for being out of shape. That´s like saying butterbean is a pretty good boxer.. if only he'd drop 200 pounds.

Seriously its stupid when boxing fans think THEY know better than the boxer they're nuthugging. Lennox didn't want the rematch he knew better and HE (not YOU ) was in the ring with Vitali. Go ahead & argue all you like but those are the facts.

 

A rematch loss to Vitali would tarnish Lennox legacy.
Actually, I think if he'd get tricked into a rematch, he'd get his ass handed to him really really bad.. he's obviously not ever going to be 20% of what he ever was.

I think it's pretty fking clear he wants to stay away from Vitilli.

 

Vitali looks in excellent shape as always.

If Vitali wins, which i think he will this will be a good scalp for the man. Gomez is probably the second best Cruiser in history and he is an established heavy, even if it has taken him along time.

Apart from the hiccup against Diaz he is basicaly undefeated also.
