Vitali is going to make short work of this guy. Remember, Yankee Diaz ko'd this clown in only one round.

You are right! 6'7", nearly 250lbs....He's the perfect fighting specimen. Tall, long arms, powerful, and a solid chin. The guy is going to be hard to beat for anybody!

Are boxers' heights taken with or without their boxing shoes on? I've always wondered about that.

Gomez might just walk right into a lead right in round 1, but he'd be on his heels, then his seat.
I don't see Gomez being capable of running for a full 12. He'll tire by 7-8 and it'll be over.

Why the hell would he want to do that?!?!?!
His only chance is to stay away and pitty-pat his way to a decision.

    Vitali by mid-round KO.

Drexl baby...how the hell are ya doing? We've had an argument or two over the years!

Anyway, I expect Gomez to go out the same way Larry Donald did. Gomez is elusive, and Vitali tends to take his time in going for the knockout. This fight probably ends in the late rounds. No real action here.

Larry Donald weighted in at only 225 lbs. For Vitali, Donald is 6 feet 4 inches tall, was a good boxer, but was knocked out for the first time by Vitali. Vitali had no problem. Gomez' chin is not so good. In his last two fights vs. McCall and Virchis he did not look so good, got hit a lot, held a lot, threw low blows, etc., Herbie Hide had more speed than Gomez, was faster and hit a lot harder, Vitali knocked him out in the second round for the WBO championship. I just can't see him beating Vitali. I see him getting knocked out, although he will run like Hell and hold on for dear life.

Gomez USED TO BE elusive. He's not any more.

With his slowing reflexes and footwork, plus the 15-20lbs of excess weight, PLUS the itty-bitty ring they are using.... it all adds up to an early to mid-round KO IMO.

We'll see, you might be right. If Gomez decides to flat-out run (which could happen) then he might last to the late rounds or even hear the final bell. I doubt it though. :yep
