Vitali Klitschko becomes WBC champion emeritus

While the subject of fighting for democracy and freedom in the Ukraine is close to the hearts of all boxing fans, freeing the belt up should be a positive move for the division.

A lot of the contenders are just marking time at the moment, not wanting to commit to a fight with Wlad and hoping to pick up a strap elsewhere and make some money. I don't have a huge problem with having other titlists in the division, as long as the belt is used in the right way to build credibility and work towards a fight against the legit champion.

Stiverne against A.N. Other should be interesting (providing it isn't Arreola).

Funny to see how Fury starts crowing and hoping his mouth will get him to the title fight being the 8th in the list.

 

guess Vitaly has bigger fish to fry.

never really liked him in boxing but in politics he has my full support. i wish we could help him in some way, i know he wont have an easy fight vs corrupt Ukraine leaders.

 

All luck to Vitali, I hope he doesn't decide to come back, it's good to call it quits in time.

Now there is a minute hope we can get all four belts gathered up by Wlad who now finally is pretty much undisputed (as long as Vit stays retired). I can imagine Wilder vs Arreola fighting for the vacant WBC (Stiverne is in a deadlock with Don King as far as I know). I wonder if Wilder will dare fight whats left of Arreola? Otherwise WBC can probably find an easier opponent so he can get the belt...
