I find it absolutely incomprehensible how 99% of fans actually believe Vitali is a great fighter. Yes, he fights mandatory contenders. Does that mean those fighters are good? Can you not use your own two eyes and judge a fighter on your own, without having the WBC tell you what to think? Herbie Hide? That's your argument for Vitali's greatness?

I repeat for the MILLIONTH time, Vitali fought Lennox because Lennox PICKED him! What part of that do you not understand? Wlad was on Lennox's ass for a year, and Lennox wouldn't even acknowledge his existence. Do you not know that Lennox was the champ, and that it was HIS choice? He could have picked Wlad, but he picked the brother with the slower hands who had trouble with defensive fighters.

Yes, Vitali was up by 8 points on the cards when the Byrd fight was stopped. Wow! really? He was ahead in Germany? That's a huge surprise! Why don't you actually watch and score the fight yourself? It's difficult not to laugh at Vitali most of the time: he looks like a robot trying to swat a fly.

The fight was close, as was the Foreman-Ali fight in round 8. But Foreman didn't ***** out, so Ali got the inevitable KO. Vitali quit, because he couldn't beat Byrd. If he had been able to win, he would have stayed in there. What you seeming logical fans are saying is that Vitali could have easily won, but decided to lose (to save his arm). But if it was so easy, why didn't he just run for 3 more rounds, without using that arm? Vitali's excuses are much sillier than Haye's.

Adamek will be the first real challenge to Vitali's "title", and that's only because Wlad couldn't fight both Haye and Adamek in less than 2 months. I expect Thomas to beat Vitali.

See separate thread: "Chris Byrd vs Vitali Klitschko - My Scorecard".

You lost me at this point, while Vitalis performance may not have been stellar in that fight because byrd was all negative especially in the early rounds Klitschko was clearly dominating byrd and was deservedly ahead on all three scorecards.

Has never been outboxed (despite what you say)
    Destroyed Herbie Hide
    Spanked Corrie Sanders
Outboxed lennox Lewis (who never had been outboxed)
Took on a world champion in his comeback fight

You think Adamek will beat Vitali?

On what grounds? I'd really like to know why you're picking Adamek.

Hide was a bum. Peter was a fat tub at that point. Sanders was old and had put on lots of weight since his previous fight. Lennox Lewis was a fat bum, and was never a great fighter to begin with.

Wlad beat Byrd (whom Lennox ducked and Vitali lost to), Chambers (very similar to Byrd - which is why Vitali wants no part of him), Chagaev and Haye (better than Byrd).

I don't rate Wlad very highly, but he's better than Vitali and Lennox.

Adamek is undoubtedly faster than Vitali, and Vitali has NEVER beaten a fast fighter (see what Byrd did to him).

Adamek has a steel jaw and can stay in there long enough to get inside and land good punches.

David Haye moved up to HW without trying to unify the CW title against Adamek. He thought it would be easier to fight heavyweights, and knew that another loss at CW would put an end to his hopes of becoming HW champ.

I also think Steve Cunningham would beat Vitali Klitchko.

the ademek fight is going to be one sided and ademel will be punished jist like briggs , but ademek wont ever see round 12. not because vitali is the greatest...but ademek is nothing special at heavyweight....grant had him looking like a loser at the end of the fight, and mccbride goes 12 rounds with him with no damage? not sure how the equals to a real challenge

Agree that the fight with Adamek will be hard. But the reason that it will be a hard fight is that Vitali is now slower than before. As danish fightfan says, Vitali has excellent wins against very good competition and unbeaten fighters (areolla, solis, johnson). He is indeed a great champion!

Sam Peter and Juan Carlos Gomez were (at the time) more legitimate challengers than Adamek.

Byrd took that fight on a weeks notice and was coming on strong.

Vitali will win the fight against Adamek, but it's not going to be as easy as people think....
He has got all the advantages except the speed!
