It was a joke...i'm sure that Klitschko fans seem irrational only due to the irrational logic behind the voice of their detractors. You're right...Klitschko fans shouldn't even acknowledge morons!!

A very green Vitali that had over 30 fights and hasn't fought anybody of an old and unfit Lewis's caliber since neither. That was a peak Vitali that night don't try and make it what it is not. Vitali was in his physical prime, was active and injury free

I agree that it was a "prime" Vitali who fought Lewis that night. He was training for a very dangerous and undefeated Cedric Boswell; Vitali looked like he was on the verge of owning Lewis before that grazing punch almost took his eye out. The skin over his left brow got caught in Lewis's right glove and was torn completely off. Very unfortunate. After the third round, Vitali was obviously distracted by the huge hole in his face. But, for the first two rounds, Vitali spanked Lewis!!

It's a shame Lewis deprived us of a rematch.

No,pathetic is the current HW division in which Vitali fights.
Pathetic are the Klit nuthuggers cuz you guys are the only ones saying this,us the rest have not had the pill of nuthuggery yet.
You are owning me as much as Vitali would own Frazier...

my goodness...I hope you're joking. If you're just having fun at a rational fan's expense, that's fine. But if you're serious about what you have been posting, then you don't deserve to carry the "road warrior" on your avatar!!

You might want to think about changing it to randy "tex" cobb instead, because he came from a much more talented era according to you!!

Sad...and to think a lot of forum members criticize Wlad klitchko for weak mandatory challengers. Ol' Tex was a big punching bag.:-(

Agreed. But at the end of the day... Lewis won by valid TKO and at 38 was well within his rights to retire. He had nothing left to prove really. The fight against Vitali wasn't a comprehensive beat down in favour of any fighter. Vitali clearly won the early rounds, Lennox had won the 2 rounds prior to the stoppage and won by a valid TKO. In some ways this reminds me of the Taylor v Chavez scenario (man winning on the cards loses to a stoppage some find unfair)... only difference is we didn't see a rematch with LL and Vitaly but then if LL in that sort of shape can do that to Vitalis face what would a motivated and fully fit Lennox do? guess we'll never know

Personally i'm glad he retired... a possible loss to Vitaly at 38/39 could have harmed his legacy and with the amount of Lewis Haters back then he couldn't really afford to give them a reason to spout more negativity about his accomplishments.

You know...I don't remember any Lewis haters after the fight with Tyson. i remember the boxing "world" pumping up Lennox Lewis after that fight to try and give Tyson some false market credibility. It worked...most thought he would actually beat Danny Williams and Kevin McBride.

Even Tyson admits he was "finished" after the "buster" douglass fight.

It's amazing...miraculously after the Tyson fight a lot of boxing scribes forgot why they criticized Lennox in the first place.

Thats because many critisized him for being boring... Apart from beating a living legend in Tyson that night (which impressed the average joe public) he proved he wasn't boring after all. Mind you i think he proved many times that he wasn't a boring fighter throughout his career. Certainly threw more punches in a fight than Wlad does and he was fighting much more dangerous opposition as well. Maybe that's why so many now recognise how good Lewis was
