He won his first 30 or so fights, most by early knockout and then met his first class opponent in Chris Byrd.

Byrd walked him down from the middle rounds, made him look like a clown by swininging and missing wildly, and then made him quit.

It was the the first time in his career he had faced adversity, and he folded like a lawn chair.

One of, if not the biggest display off Glass Heartedness in heavyweight title history.

    What a disgrace.

Mike Tyson had the same problem. He had all the physical tools but what he lacked was upstairs. He was mentally weak. Any time somone stood up to him he would lose. Tyson had a bully mentality, when Tyson would hit somone and they are still fighting back he cant handle that.

Alien dont you agree the same about Tyson? Tyson was mentally weak and he would fold slash start to unfold any time somone stood up to him. Tyson was a classical mentally weak bully

Look at the Frans Botha fight. Tyson was facing adversity he tried to break his arm.So he was looking for a way out

nice terry. you heard that **** one time from that ****** Atlas and now you spout it off in every thread. dumb ass

mentally weak fighters dont go in an win the heavyweight title at age 20, unify by 21 and have 8 title defenses in 2 years. so take that mentally weak argument and stick it in your ass.
tyson was bored as **** by the time he fought douglas, had made over 150 million dollars by then at age 23 and basically quit training...had nothing to do with being mentally weak...horse ****, quit being a fool

I read something on Mikey not wanting to fight further because the amatuer bout wasn't going the way he wanted.
Not sure how true it is.

when he was 14, 15 or 16 years old? that stuff is just a bunch of garbage that happens with alot of amateur fighters the first time they fight someone thats more expierenced or simply tougher than all previous guys. you just dont hear about them because they are not mike tyson . yeah they talk about mike tyson at age 17 and an amateur who got his nose bloodied by carl williams sparring who was training to fight larry holmes at the time. a grown ass man getting ready to fight for the heavyweight title and people make a big deal that he beat up on some 17 year old amateur the first day of sparring and tyson didnt want to go back for day 2 because of it. but he did and beat up on williams this time and they sent tyson packing...
