Not a surprise. ESPN does this from time to time to accommodate to their fanbase (Adamek vs ONeil Bell jumps to mind).

That is quite a downgrade. Most cable companies have ESPN as a bsic service, but ESPN Classics is one of those 'upgrade channels' that few people ever watch. We get that channel here, so I'll be watching, but there's no chance of picking up any viewers who might ahve casually tuned into ESPN.

This is probably so they can show some crappy MLS Soccer game instead. You know, MLS Soccer that gets ratings lower than Women's basketball!!

I had to go upgrade my DISH package to get ESPN Classic...cost me an extra $20/month. Although I'll probably downgrade after the fight.

I thought ESPN was going to do the right thing for the sport of boxing for once. What a disappointment.

How can there be people in this thread saying this is good news? This is horrible news for boxing.

The fight was originally scheduled to air at 5pm eastern.. Now it's 6pm eastern? So that means what you will watch on ESPN Classic wont even be live.. it'll be on tape delay.

Yes, they definitely downgraded the fight for whatever reason. At first they dont promote it at all, not it gets switched to a channel alot of people dont even have. What a damn shame, I just hope they replay it on ESPN2 at 7 so I could watch it.
